Fun fact: the plastic tit covers were actually not a pert of the original design and only added at the last minute because Silverstone's nipples were very large and in charge whenever she wore the suit. Not only was this deemed too lewd for the age rating they were after for the film, but it kept clouding the minds of her co-stars and causing them to miss cues or fluff lines. Several of Batgirl's action scenes were cut as well because if she got too energetic the new plastic tit covers would fling off because of the jiggle and bounce and only being held on by a folded piece of duck tape.

A set has to be reassembled, dismantled and even added to at short notice, Duck tape is perfect for that and you have the quality guarantee you don't get with generic duct tapes. If you go around a film set calling it Duct tape people will laugh at you as they'll assume you're some idiot who risks peoples lives or the set by using low quality knock off tape to save pennies.
