But from a writing perspective I like how jaded and borderline evil (even compared to janeway) Sisko becomes from being shanghai'd into running some shithole space station in buttfuck nowhere, and getting caught up in a bunch of mumbo jumbo with spacetime entities using him as a puppet, having to hold off multiple existential threats and invasions etc.

I’ve been rewatching TNG and I have an observation and a question.

1) I like that he is big into Klingon honor because growing up he probably only knew about Klingon culture and history from Klingon books, books that would certainly paint a rosy picture of the Klingons and their code and culture. So he grows up being the textbook ideal of a klingon warrior despite never living amongst Klingons and when he finally meets actual Klingons they are mostly just a bunch of backstabbing, self justifying assholes.
