The self suck is highly divisive. Some people see it charls humiliating himself, and I’ll admit when I saw the screenshots before watching I was disgusted and disappointed, but after watching the episode I can say it may be the most bold thing I’ve seen a comedic actor do on film and should be seen as a triumph on charls part. My only complaint is the edit was a bit fucked, cutting the sequence differently with different music/sfx would have sold the joke better. Whoever edited it leaned into the sad/pathetic angle which felt anticlimactic.
