Why do you guys still care about MCU, DC, Star Wars, Harry Potter, Avatar, 007 and more other garbage franchises?

Go and watch real cinema.

Real cinema is informed by cultural expectations which it then subverts or deconstructs in interesting ways. That's not possible without popular myths and stories that permeate through the collective social consciousness.

Paid shills don’t actually care about what they’re shilling. Mods don’t care about the quality of the board/site either.

You’re understanding of how culture and media interact is entirely backwards.

Culture is shared experience. Media that doesn’t reflect shared experience doesn’t succeed.

Counting self-promotion, about 90% considering how little traffic shifted to other image boards when the site was down. Then the first threads made when the site came back were shill threads.

>Culture is shared experience.
But that's exactly my point. All of these franchises are juggernauts that define that shared experience. Even if you haven't seen a James Bond or Star Wars, you still know the premise through cultural osmosis.

The only franchise the OP listed that hasn’t completely fucking died is avatar. All of said franchises died because of how far they deviated from actual shared experience.

>died
None of these franchises have died, anon. They go through ebbs and flows in popularity.

Still holding out hope for a sequel defense force to materialize from the ether eh? Star Wars is beyond dead and literally never coming back. The last bond movie flopped. Every attempt to revive Harry Potter flopped. New MCU entries are flopping left and right because they keep connecting movies to streaming shows no one watched, and DC is just lol at this point.
