If we're being honest, the fans of this movie only like the shootout near the end and the part where the guy goes "I had to get it on". The rest is filler.

It's an average film. Not amazing. Not dog shit. It just gets hyped up because gun fags think it's amazing that an actor learned how to reload a firearm.

It was mid, and the ending was pretty bad.
It should have been a callback to the "be ready to walk away from everything in 20 seconds". Which he did when he looked sadly at the girl, knowing he would never see her again and probably thinking it wasn't worth the sacrifice.
Or it could have been that the police chose to stay with his stepdaughter at the hospital, thereby missing the chance to get him.

Its a gay peice of shit... 40 mins of the movie is Al Capone yelling at his wife about his TV and making sandwiches.

Collateral is the superior Mann movie in every single way, and has one of cinema's greatest villains ever put to screen.

I found the movie a little slow and boring in the first half, but once Pacino's character got on their tail, it actually became an interesting flick.

Wives and GFs subplots' setups are completely rugpulled and wasted by the ending Pacino betrays the stepdaughter which he actually cares about: he has to die out on the tarmac with Deniro, bare minimum to make it a real tragedy The one glaring flaw is zero consequences for Pacino's cowboy SWAT headshotting; which ought to be under investigation if not suspension by time of the final scenes so he stands to lose his marriage and his one redeeming obsession in his work. If he's honest with himself, it's not about justice for the cop that got iced early in the movie-- he's got nothing else, and it's jannying for banks with insurance over trivial sums of cash, nano-rounding errors: he wants to let it go, but it's envy to deprive Deniro of that easy life and early retirement that really gets his goat.

Overrated but worth watching. Far too much empasis on 'o no I decided to become a cop/career criminal but it's impacting my relationship', and has a completely redundant subplot regarding the movie's pantomime villain which goes nowhere. From a writing perspective it's undisciplined and self-indulgent. Otherwise, great cast, great performances, great photography, and just a very well made movie in general.
