I was typing a post in a prior thread but the thread died when I was about to post so I'll just put it here.
I don't know what went on there and that was rough when I first watched it, but the poeple trying to spin narratives about this, I don't think know anything about it. All the people trying to psychoanalyse as if they know for sure what went on.
My initial impression is that this was just some kind of autism moment for Sam and he couldn't see how to reconcile it, he clearly didn't jive with Harland, and it naturally became confrontational.
I've never experiened anything like that but I know what it's like to not jive with someone, I know what it's like to have moments of autism that could have perhaps went a better way but didn't.
Sam and Harland's interaction was like trying to fit 2 puzzle peices from 2 different puzzles and expecting good results. The whole vibe of the show, and the styles just didn't fit. I don't know if it was an ego thing or what. I think if Sam went along he would it would have been very underwheliming, and perhaps feel palpably inauthentic to Sam, but I don't know.
Whether it be the ones saying Sam was played like a fiddle or the ones saying Sam made a thought out calculated response, I think it's just dumb. No point in pretending you know.
>>212854005Obviously everyone there was uncomfortable, but conversations can be had efter these events.
I realize now what the problem is, people look at these people, like they AREN'T people, but characters in a movie. These people are just a movie to people, so they think they've seen ALL that ever happened, because to them these people only exist on a screen.
