>aliens can blow up a whole planet
>humans build a machine that can create a new planet
>this new planet can also be destroyed if the aliens are still alive and they find it
either I am missing something or the plot is completely retarded

Same problem as Independence Day. Aliens come back bigger and stronger, You're not supposed to think or care about that.

It needed to eat up the aliens to create the new world. They were right to fear it

wasn't that just an asspull or was the Titan designed to absorb them in the first place?
even if that were the case, what if some of them weren't over there? they could just destroy the new planet anyway

What makes you think the aliens blowing up the Earth was a normal occurrence and not an extremely taxing effort for them done in a last ditch to beat humanity?

>Not everything. Your father hid his ship, then the Drej killed him. All because he couldn't face the truth
>Yeah? What is the truth?
>That the human race is outta gas. It's circling the drain. It's finished. The only thing that matters is grabbing what you can before somebody else beats ya to it
>No. I don't believe that

The movie is a cult kino, it's sorta shit, as other anons mentioned, but there is something about it.

Every year they are reviving, rebooting, remaking, making sequels to old successful films, but it's stuff like this that should get a second chance.

>improve script
>update visual effects
>make it live action, it fits
You can make a billion dollars here.

my headcanon thinks it was sabotaged

didn't even have a cinema release in europe where I live, while the poster looked fantastic and enticing. The movie itself was mid, sure, but marketing could've easily found ways to make money from it

My favorite movie all of all time. If you clean up the story and put some more work into the characters the idea has serious potential.
>Humans create technology that makes them an obvious threat
>a preemptive strike on humanity is launched leaving only a few survivors
>the aliens think the survivors aren't worth the effort and disregard what remains of humanity
>the survivors rebuild, deliver a devasting counterattack, and win the day
Love the soundtrack, love the character designs, love the ambiance, the atmosphere, etc.

I always thought the animation of humans in Bluth movies looked weird. Not necessarily bad, they just look odd, almost rotoscoped in comparison to the non-human characters. It's especially acute in movies like All Dogs Go To Heaven or Thumbelina where you have some really nice designs and animation then the humanoid characters show up and they look almost out of place. I think they just sort of aren't exaggerated enough, this isn't a problem Disney animated movies really have.
I go back and forth on whether A Troll in Central Park or Thumbelina is his worst film. They're both really bad but at least Troll has a conflict sort of, Thumbelina is one of the most boring animated movies I've ever seen.

yeah if you remove all the bad shit of a mediocre movie you could get a good movie, but that should have been done back in 1997-2000 not now
