The Orville is one of my favourite shows of all time.
>>212887405I listened to the audiobook but I was personally a tad disappointed because it felt too much like the same tired anti-Nazi Jewish pandering (pandering being operative, nothing more especially against Jews than anyone else) narrative to me. We already got so much of that in metaphor in the show (fascist Krill, genocidal Kaylon) that it felt too on the nose and gratuitous.
Also felt it was still too unequivocally anti-nazi and doesn't go deep enough into their true goals and motivations. The most "sympathy" it dares to extend is that we are supposed to liken the guy in the simulator to any other German living during the Nazi regime and to understand how most people might become an obedient cog in that machine, but it doesn't for a moment entertain the regime itself as anything but one-dimensionally evil iirc, which I would expect more of from The Orville at this point.
Either way can't wait for S4.
