Alright /tv/, I know most of you think a /tv/ recommendation image is a terrible idea because there is no single /tv/ consensus. And yet people keep asking for one. So I've decided to take up the gauntlet and work on putting a recommendation image for TV shows together.

Here's how I'm gonna do this over the next few days:
1.First (RIGHT NOW) I'm asking for what TV shows you want on the list. This is not a thread for debating a show's merit, just list anything you want considered
2.I will then make an online survey including all of the shows posted here and will have /tv/ for each show vote one of three options: Include It, Don't Include It, or Don't Care.
3.Tomorrow I will post a preliminary list of the shows with the highest votes and break them down into different categories (off the top of my head - sitcom, drama, dramedy, sci-fi, action-adventure, teen, animation, and estrogen shows).
4.After the categories and shows are set, I will create a mock-up image and allow for debate on any changes to be made. Each category can also have “essentials” or “requisites” within them.
5.I will also write or have /tv/ help write one sentence “consensus” notes about each show, just like Rotten Tomatoes does at the top of each movie page. These will help give context to each show's inclusion in the list so that people who like sci-fi and like Firefly won't automatically think Stargate SGU (if included) is their cup of tea.

I will finally post the 'official' image as well as the original photoshop file so that anyone can update it as new shows deserve to be added. Remember, this is not a list where every person on /tv/ agrees with every show, but a list where generally a large portion of /tv/ agrees they are quality shows worthy of recommending to those who are interested in that genre.

That's one of the shows I'm in the middle of watching. I just finished "Blueprint for Murder" the season 1 finale. It was a simple setup that felt pretty blandly shot compared to all the episodes which lead up to it, but it did have that funny sequence of Columbo at City Hall and a really clever twist that nearly would've worked.

I'm not gonna spam reply to every post in this thread, but I think saying "this season only" for certain shows defeats the purpose of the chart, which is to prop up the BEST that Television has to offer, and if you were that confident about what's worthwhile in it you'd be able to let people use their own judgement to ascertain "oh, only the first season of Heroes is any good" or whatever.
It's like saying "Yeah, Malcom in the Middle is an amazing show, if you ignore the late series arc where Francis lives on a dude ranch." C'mon, just because it's one of the weakest aspects doesn't mean you can ignore it to claim the show is perfect.

I do 100% agree with you on seasons 1 & 4, and I am one of the people who liked the 2nd season, though I have yet to see the third.
But I think that any person faced with the question of "Should True Detective be included on the chart?" will be able to exercise their own judgement to say "yeah the 4th season sucks ass, but it still deserves the spot for season 1 at the least". Same way they'd see Twin Peaks and think "Season 2 spends a lot of time spinning its wheels becoming the very soap drama it set out to deconstruct, and The Return is like a completely different show, but it's still one of the greatest pieces of television out there."
Any /tv/ chart is gonna be a collection of opinions, but it's also a consensus. Better to place everything on a level playing field.

Anyhow, OP, as you can see, this is something of a Sisyphean task. If I were you, I'd made the image first, then post v.1 and let me people bitch and complain and make suggestions, then update.
