Forget the box office, do you guys think this will be more or less entertaining than Superman? I think it’s strange that they’re redoing the plot of the Silver Surfer movie that bombed but with a 60s theme for some reason, but who knows maybe it’ll be really good? I’m honestly curious.

I really haven't given a shit. I only watched Superman because my Dad who idolizes the character hated it and needed me to see how stupid it was. I'm predicting that f4 is going to have AWFUL writing and dialogue, and the rest of the movie isn't going to cancel it out

Pretty sure every parody of the F4 has done this. People seem to mentally associate superhero family with a 60s vibe. Inspires confidence in the creative direction desu.

I think it should be pretty good. Maybe not hit the emotional highs as Superman because F4 isn't as iconic, but probably have more creative super power scenes. More mundane and slapstick uses.

I think it's unlikely. It seems like Marvel is trying REALLY fucking hard to make this good, but has made a lot of weird choices along the way. Whereas Gunn was just having fun and enjoying making a good movie.

I've only seen two trailers, and can already assume the plot. Galactus shows up, he wins or whatever, the F4 fuck off their weird 50s timeline and end up in normal Marvel. It's probably a major plot setup for Doomsday. A lot of the movie is likely going to be filler crap.

All the casting is bad. Johnny is terrible. Reed is terrible, even though Pedro is a great lead. Sue is average. Thing design is very mid.
It's like they purposely gave them all slightly off casting, because it seems like all their characters are slightly different than their sources.

It's like Marvel is trying to convince everyone this is their big comeback, but there's no real passion. They did all the formulas and mathematics to make absolutely sure this sorta weird casting and this sorta weird setting and these sorta weird choices were just weird enough to appease both the mainstream, and the non-usual audiences.

I think it's one of those movies that on release people will freak the fuck out about, and then two weeks later nobody will give a shit and people's opinions will have changed to 'it was all right'

Fantastic Four is a hard sell as it is. Even in the comics they're basic bitches and totally bland. They only show up as wet blanket when "parents" need to step in or Reed needs to science mumbo jumbo some deus ex machina. It's quite telling that most Reed stories from the last 20+ years feature him being evil in one way or another, that's how interesting the base character is.
Sue was never relevant and her claim to fame was that she on and off fucks Namor.
Ben is a one-note character with one catchphrase that does fuck all, like most "brawler" types.
Johnny is boring as fuck and almost a non-character.

They're really totally uninteresting and this cast makes them even less so. Best thing they could've done is get Doom front and center as soon as possible and cast Mads in the role, but they fucked even that up and meme'd RDJ instead. Total botch job on all fronts.
