"Car Hold" is funnier, because it sounds like a legit goofy old-timey anachronistic or translated-from-foreign word someone out of touch would use. It's chuckleworthy. "Car Hole" on the other hand is simply trying too hard. It goes for that cheap laugh of "Moe is so low class everything is holes and dirt with him", and it's just not up to the usual level of linguistic cleverness Simpsons of that era was known for.
When the episode fresh in our memories during the Simpsons' golden age of popularity, my friends and I would frequently quote "Car Hold" at each other, regardless of what might have been recorded.
