best wisdom i learned was when i was roofing with a man from former- Yugoslavia. He saw the dismantling of his country, language, culture, history. when the UN or NATO or whatever pushed him towards military service he said fuck that and came here with his wife. His son is a bear of a man, speaks the old tongue, knows english. The sparks live in them, but a country, a culture, a language, means nothing to die young for, especially if you have children to provide for. Truly, nothing matters beyond if you're a good person, I'll get hate for this, but any man seeking a peaceful life is family in my mind. Bad men are bad men, no matter your roots. Though some roots seem to breed more bad fruit, that doesn't mean all trees should be culled, lest yours gets pruned too
