My first baby is about to be one so I’ve started organizing a catalog of shows for them to watch. I’ve been going through a bunch of old stuff and it’s surprised me as an adult shows like rugrats which I loved as a kid are actually pretty pozzed, but shows I didn’t like as a kid like Rocko’s modern life are actually pretty redpilled. What are some shows you can show your kid without them being indoctrinated with gay shit?
>>212929990 (OP)Post your wife's armpits
>>212929990 (OP)Buck Breaking: the animated series
first of all you shouldn't be showing your baby television to begin with. but since you asked just give them classic wallace and gromit, arthur, etc. and make sure it's on DVD, not a streaming service. little kids are happy to watch the same thing over and over, keep their selection limited.
>>212930212Yeah just watch any cartoon on a streaming service today and you’ll notice little changes and tweaks everywhere. They don’t even have disclaimers anymore. Always buy the physical copy
>>212929990 (OP)Simply put, classic cartoons from WB, MGM, Fox, Universal, etc. Aim for 1930s-1960s. Also family comedy programming from the 1950s and 1960s are good, plus The Three Stooges, Laurel and Hardy, and Abbott and Costello.
>>212930291Also, Mr Roger’s Neighborhood, Lambchop, and Bluey are pretty much my go-to
>>212930291well I don't mean DVDs are better on account of censorship or alterations, I just think it's better to have a physically limited selection for children to choose from. streaming is a pandora's box, it's 99% evil and 1% quality, and the kids can easily get sucked into the infinite amount of content at their disposal. parents will never win a fight in their own household against Netflix.
>>212929990 (OP)> Rocko’s modern life are actually pretty redpilledNo… it’s just a show that was really good so zoomers pretend they’ve watched it.
>>212930395100%. Even toddlers can figure out how to access shows via streaming services pretty quickly. You’re best just having one TV in the house connected to the internet and hiding the remote if you have kids around. Everything else on DVD/ physical media and curated
>>212930449Is that even a thing?

>>212929990 (OP)My go-to non-pozzed shows for my kid are:

>Pee-wee's PlayhouseIt's pozzed as fuck but idc still hq

Sailor moon
Bluey
Powderpuff girls
Lyla in the loop ( I know PBS kids but the black family is pretty solid rather then ghetto. Also logical thinking skills)

>>212929990 (OP)Congrats op. As a father of two, let tell you it's awesome but tiring as hell.
Watch what you do around them because they soak that shit up like a sponge. I've been developing my skills for my job and I make an effort to study and read in front of them so they can see such habits being used. They do what you do. For example, tell them how awesome veggies are taste and not over due treats and they will follow by example.
Include them in what you do as well. Right now I'm about to set out my clothes for the week and my oldest (4 years) loved picking out my ties to match my clothes.
Be tough but fair. I'm fairly permissive with my kids at times but they have it in good to do something when I draw the libs and do it. My wife will struggle at times to get them to pick up shit but when I do it they listen. I thin it's because I've been consistent on them to do what I tell them but never overbearing to turn them rebellious.
When you take them to the park or some event watch and play with them. Totally understand taking some me time to dick around on your phone but it's tragic how many times I see parents on their phones when I take my kids to the park. I joke with my wife about how often kids s seem to interact with me when I'm with my kids because I'm the only attentive parent there so they probably see me as a big kid rather then a parent.
As a kid I always found Little Bear cozy as hell

Do not lie to your kids, especially a bold face lie. They will think lying to a loved one is acceptable or get resentful when they realized they were lied to.
My kid caught me smoking a cigarette and said "daddy smoking" my wife try to cover and lie going no that wasn't smoking you saw. I had to step in and set it straight explaining to her that I was and it's a bad habit I need to quit.
Kids are alot smarter then most want to give them credit for. They also know when something is unfair and will hold to it when they are wronged.
>>212930318I have a 16 month old. Pluto TV has 24/7 Mr Rogers, we'll put it in once in a while. Sadly my kid only perks up for the commercials
Boomer ahh thread. Show your kids cool stuff from the 90s and 00s and youtubes will take care of the rest. Don't be showing them shit from the 60s that could turn into some autistic obsession for them that gets them bullied or worse.
>>212934890>showing your 16 month old TVdisgusting
if you mean rocko's modern life was "redpilled", it definitely had bold satire of corporate/capitalist shit in there. but it was one of the first mainstream cartoons to be sympathetic to LGBTQ stuffand was filled to the brim with wacky adult jokes where nearly everyone was some kind of degenerate sex pest right down to heffer possibly knocking up the jewish filbert's shiska wife. then there's the reboot which needs no explanation. not really "appropriate" for kids either way going by what you're aiming for, though i loved it back then

>>212933904>>212934596Based effortpost. Thanks and Godbless, bro
I'm about to have my first kid. Picked up my childhood VHSs from my parents' (Back to the Future, Star Wars, Neverending Story, etc) and have been collecting more — want to keep them away from streaming/youtube and VHSs are durable and cheap — but also thinking about setting up a dedicated Plex server for them, with stuff like early Spongebob and whatever modern shit isn't annoying. It's going to be hard to strike a balance with the internet as they get older. I don't want them to be total pariahs amongst their classmates but I also think it's insane to leave them defenceless against modern marketing and corporate psychological torture. What's a parent to do.
I would start with Sopranos and then move on to The Wire, Deadwood and then Carnivale. Skip everything else. Just those four on repeat, forever
>>212935018You absolutely have to take your kid to church and Sunday school. The one I attend is 100% White conservative young families. When church starts all the little kids leave their parents in the pews and line up to parade out to go to Sunday School. Right before Communion starts they parade back in and go up to the altar and the priest asks what they learned today and it’s just about the most wholesome thing you could possibly see. It’s a great place for them to meet friends and families with similar mindsets. Obligatory
>t. Got my first kiss and girlfriend on a church summer rafting trip back when I was 12
>>212929990 (OP)>saying pozzed uniornicallyI feel bad for your kid
>>212934811Thanks
>>212935018Keep meaning too. We definitely don't skip on spiritual side of things even though we keep missing church (im raised catholic going only for Christmas, my wife is CoE also raised barely going so what do we go as is always a odd point between us. ).
Regardless my wife goes out of her to read them Bible stories at bed time and I try to explain to them at their level when they ask about God and Jesus. I enjoy more theological and mystic parts so when they get older I'm going to start bring that to them. Hate how alot of the Christian stuff for their age has a "pray and God will deliver" message and try to emphasis to them (as best i can) to pray as a source of strength but it's on you to get shit done.
They really enjoyed Joseph and the technicolor dream coat. Another one to add to your list. We watched Jesus christ superstar and it might have been a bit to deep for them to grasp as I explained concepts to them (what are lepers, why jesus was tearing shit up at the temple and what it meant, the impact of rome at the time, etc).
Congrats! Enjoy every second you have with your little one. You do be suprised at how fast they grew up.
Get them swimming as fast as possible. Either teaching them yourself or lessons. My 3 and 4 year old are in swimming lessons right now. God forbid something happens and they fall into a body of water but that simple skill to tread water is a difference between life and death.

>>212935444Sup mate, congrats as well. Great to see so many anons about to be blessed.
That's a big question on my mind constantly as a kid who grew up with unfettered internet access.
I got a pihole on my network and going to be setting up a walled garden internet for them. Not perfect but better then unlimited access.
Best thing i saw was family computer in a visible open spot, something like the family room where the kid can't retreat off to by themselves.
It's going to be hard when they are older enough for cellphones (im thinking teenage at least maybe a sliding scale based on how responsible I can judge them and type of phone + monitoring software). Only thing I can really think of is emphasizing to them that you are what you eat and that steel sharpens steel. If they are fully understand those lessons then ideally they can make the right decisions when the time comes.
I'll take off my pretending to be a zoomer hat and talk some real shit on 4chan for a second
BabyTV shows some cool shit that is mostly classical music with textures and shapes that aren't aggressive and the camera doesn't cut, and there aren't any commercials. It made in Israel so if you're too far gone you're fucked on this. You're also fucked on giving your kid Bamba Suns, which is gay bc that shit is good with some ice cream nigga.
Daniel Tiger.
Donkey Hodie.
Dinosaur Train.
Basically anything on PBS Kids. Everything I've seen that isn't Baby TV or PBS Kids is corpofucked with ads and very little education standards. I know all of this shit is dogmatic triggers for a third of you bringing up Israel and PBS Kids but fuck you I hate Jews but I like Bamba Suns and Sharon Animation on BabyTV makes the best baby stuff with Ocean and River and Flowers and Sky so suck my dick bitch.
>>212935909One thing I’ve noticed in my neighborhood is that even the teenagers still have flip phones. A lot of the parents around here won’t allow smartphones until the kid turns 18
>>212935965Good. Also best phone design. Was thinking of starting move off the same way. Limited flip phones but who knows what tech will be in 10 years.
>>212935911I'm very mix on PBS kids. My kids loved work it out wombats and over all it's another decent logic teaching show but absolutely hate the lesbian kangaroo moms with adopted kangaroo rat daughter. I make sure those episodes aren't in the rotation of what they can watch.
I will explain those concepts to them when the time is right. Not some liberal twat that doesn't even have kids
>>212935909in addition to a family computer it's also good to have a shared family email address so that the kid sees how the left hand knows what the right hand is doing, i.e. mom and dad cooperate on seeing all the incoming email the same as they would physical mail
that also goes for things like credit card statements and bills, kids need to see that the parents are entirely on the same page on these matters instead of them playing a game of telephone, or worse not communicating at all.

>>212938490I'm 27 with no kids/gf but for entirely different reasons lol.
Here's a little lesson for new parents, never discourage your child from making friends unless that friend's behavior is actively harming your child. My father spent my entire childhood telling me that my classmates were idiots and that I was too smart to be friends with them. Spending time with stupid people seemed almost sinful to him, and he was certain I'd grow up to be some power attorney and social success would thereby be magnet to me. He sort of gave up on that dream and told me at 17 that I wasn't as smart as he'd thought. Now everyone I went to school with has great jobs to support their wife and children and I'm still living at home posting on /tv/, only now on the verge of being able to afford an apartment.
I'm 27, I can't blame things on my folks anymore, truth is I am kind of a retard, but having the wind out of your sails your entire adolescence catches up to you. Moral of the story is, you aren't entitled to a perfect child, you should treat his entire life as a series of pluses you contribute to, instead of looking for minuses compared to the ideal child. Especially when it comes to social development. /blog

Anons, how do you deal with the onslaught of iPads? From what I’ve observed from Nephews and nieces it basically turns them into zombies and fries their attention spans. Our goal is to not have any at all and if it’s gifted it’s trashed
+1 to streaming limitation too. We are thinking when it comes to TV down the road then just PBS. Streaming teaches kids they can watch their fucking Bluey at all hours and throw a fit if not given the remote

Simply don't give them one. It does mean though that you have to engage with them. Out on a meal or at on a drive you gotta talk with them. When you see the iPad generation it's because the parents simply didn't want to talk to them.
The only iPad usage they have gotten so far is when we went on long trips and we put a movie on for them. Don't even let them handle it, just mount it between the front seats so they can watch.
Only electronics game we have played is on the retropi i setup. They really enjoyed Richard scarey busy town on the sega.

Now our kids say "we don't watch handy man hal because he talks like a baby and makes garbage HAHAHAHA" Same thing for shows they might find on the TV, they're just straight up not allowed to watch stuff sometimes. Though they pozzed it in its later seasons, early Arthur was also very cozy
One of the very few children's cartoons who's world felt lived in
Arthurs house looks and feels like a real house, his parents act like real adults and are not just comedic humor characters like every parents/dad on nickelodeon
believe it or not , the first 3 seasons of MLP are very subtly based
They brought back Rocko and added a tranny character, so i'm not sure it still qualifies as red pilled.
Nobodies mentioned Thomas and Friends yet?
