Can the Jurassic Park franchise ever get back to good scripts, or is it too far off the rails?

At this point, it has a new fandom, that would be mad if you tried to do something other than just generic monster flicks.

The last one was the best since the 1st, and it was still trash.
So it proves the only good premise for a movie is a “fresh” one, so no.
In order for good dinosaur kino to return it requires a new franchise.

What can you even do with that concept?
>Dino park on an island and it malfunctions?
Done in JP1
>Dinos on a different island escape to the mainland and wreck havoc
Done in JP2

From then on it's the same concept or retarded monster-dinos.

There's still room for good stories in the JW universe. For example, Rebirth could have been alright without the annoying family, if it were just a team of mercenaries getting picked off by dinosaurs. That's all these movies really need to be at this point, fun action movies with interesting characters. They don't need to reference or tie into the original JP anymore.

No. Jurassic Park was at its place in time where humanity was still optimistic (and blindly capitalistic from Chrichton's POV). None of the concepts of the series make sense in clown world where we're all just waiting for as peaceful an end we can get. There's no new beginning on the horizon.

No Jurassic Park film has had a good script.

You've just been fed pure shit for so long you're nostalgic for half-and-half shit and porridge.

Could definitely work, maybe as an animation. A little dinosaur trying to survive the big predators and humans after the park systems break. For extra nostalgia points make it happen during the events in the first Jurassic Park.

It's just really shitty writing and shark jumping that's holding it back.
World (open park) and Fallen Kingdom (active volcano threat) both had GREAT concepts but unfortunately were written and directed by brownoids and nepo babies that only want to appeal to Funko Pop aficionados.

At this rate, the only way Jurassic Park ever becomes "good" again is, and I hate to say it, by redoing the whole thing and actually fleshing this shit out.

>Can the Jurassic Park franchise ever get back to good scripts

the question is why would they bother? the people who go see these movies are apparently going to keep coming back no matter what. it's like asking if there's going to be any more good Halloween movies.

They need to do one and frame it like a documentary, following the dinosaurs and their behavior. Filming dino fights and mating competition, etc.

It's a theme park/zoo movie. How many of those are there? There's not enough things you can do with it. Thus the franchise became a monster one. You could maybe do something like Beverly Hills Cop 3, where the theme park is just part of the setting, but the main plot isn't really connected to it.

You cannot make a good dinosaur movie when the movie is made for no other reason than have dinosaurs onscreen. Same with Alien, same with Godzilla, same with anything.

After they literally went with dinos unleashed on Earth the franchise fell to Jurassic Park vs Art the Clown tier of nonsense
Imagine the military of any country being fine with letting bigass predators roaming on civilized lands or just fucking up the ecosystem in the wilderness

The story only worked as a single film. It's not possible to make a good franchise out of it because you're just repeating the same thing over and over.

Aliens kind of works because you can set up different scenarios involving a reason to be in contact with them. Other stuff doesn't because they all involve earth and a monster being on the loose. After a while it's like "well just kill them and be done with it".

The only good one was the first one. Here's an idea: Jurassic Park on Mars. After terraforming Mars in 3000 CE, raptors are transported by shuttle to Mars, but they... ESCAPE!
That'll be $10k USD plus 2% royalties and a percentage of toy sales.

'18 was genuinely good, Kills is fun if you just want to see Michael fuck shit up (the "Evil Dies Tonight" thing is completely overblown), and while I would have preferred they stuck with the idea of the whole trilogy taking place over a single night, Ends isn't terrible if you kind of sympathize with the Corey character.
