Marvel won't last long enough for them to need to recast any time soon. The writing is on the wall. Even die hard fans aren't going to theaters like they used to. If Doomsday doesn't revitalize the MCU, it is unironically on hiatus.

No way they’re doing another Captain America movie anytime soon. Not with how overseas is chimping out over anything that resembles America. Last Cap was shutout of China earlier this year

Unkown zoomer actors. Tony would build his first suit during the Russia-Ukraine War. Cap will still be ww2 though

I feel like they avoided recasting because they wanted these guys available an emergency backup plan they could invoke if shit went sideways, which is kind of what happened. "Oh, you don't like phase 5? Well, Robert and Chris are back so everyone's happy now, right?"

Them trying to bridge the gap between the Avengers and X-Men with Spider-Man and a bunch of C-listers was just such a bad idea. I understand wanting to keep the gravy train going but the gravy train didn't consist of She-Hulk, Ms. Marvel, Bucky and his no-name pals or Ironheart. If all the OGs were out then the ride was over so they should have admitted it was over and just waited to relaunch the whole thing with the FF move followed quickly by the X-Men. Then by the time you needed to introduce new Cap and New Iron Man it would have been long enough not to feel too weird seeing other people playing those characters.

Now the lines are all blurred. Can't introduce a new Iron Man or Cap when Downey and Evans are still in the mix and if they recast them right after Doomsday that's going to be too soon for anyone's liking and seem like a panic move.

It was greedy. Disney wanted to fire ALL of the A-List actors at once and immediately switch to D-listers that cost less. They could have done that over about five years to let the new guys find their footing but they didn’t.

We've been trying to tell you retards they're gonna make it like the shitty comics, Secret Wars will reboot the universe keeping all the stinkers running around like Falcon as Captain and recasting the capes people care about like actual Captain and Iron Man. Also, Superman is failing overseas because it's tonedeaf reddit, which you are as a nation no doubt, but there's no actual anti-amerifat sentiment (sadly).
Anonymous No.212934296 >>212935626
We have to be honest here; there are only a handful of popular comic book characters and Marvel went thru them all, thus they are now recycling them with Avengers Doomsday and Secret Wars with all the old actors who played the popular characters.

It will probably be some British actors cause Britain is the only country producing performers.

I imagine it's not so much that as the old adage about the shark sinking if it stops swimming -- the thinking was/is, presumably, that at no point can the MCU be allowed to drop out of the public consciousness (because how do you recapture that capital that was earned over a literal decade?), so they constantly need to be churning out "content". I have 0 business/media acumen and cannot judge whether this is true, I assume they must've had solid facts to act on.

Not even remotely, Avengers are fucking losers with no good stories and they're the posterboys of MCU. The few good capes they did touch didn't cover any good material either. Not that it matters anyway, they'll just keep doing stupid modern shit no one liked and then wonder why it's failing.

>I assume they must've had solid facts to act on

If anything, the facts should have warned them against this. Oversaturating the market with increasingly watered down content, trying to make every random d-tier character a viable IP, invoking multiverse and time travel related magic asspulls that render everything pointless because there's no more rules or permanent outcomes, and replacing every iconic character with a wokeslop version is how the comic industry murdered itself. And they looked at the wreckage of the comic industry and said, "we're going to do that but to something much more valuable"

If you have irrefutable proof that your target demographic hates the things you're planning to do, and then you insist on doing them anyway...well, then you'd be modern Disney, who bought the 2 most valuable franchises in film history and strangled the life out of both in less than 10 years

Its bombing because its quipshit, not because its american. The only ones chimping out about america are american comic book and movie writers. They are the most butthurt about Trump.

Regardless, IM should be recast, he looks old and frail. Captain america is ready for another 10-15 years of movies.
