Nah, the movie ending was better. They pushed him, drew first blood and got what they deserved. Rambo for all his faults, was still cast aside by the nation he served and was treated unfairly by the cops/protestors. He wasn't still a threat to anyone, deserved a second shot, and better treatment. Just like the veterans of Vietnam that came home and were shit on. The movie's ending was encouraging people to see their point of view, think about their behavior, and treat others better. Rather than going with the book ending acting like the veterans were hopeless and should be killed.

In the book he killed at least 20 people, including wiping out Teasle's entire unit, while in the movie he kills that one retard with a rock and a couple of dogs.
