seen a bunch of these
The Killers was ok
Holdovers was ok (a bit overrated, i didn't like the ending and the black woman subplot felt half assed)
Sloppenheimer was entertaining enough but felt like a 3 hour trailer
Killers of the Flower Moon was watchable but Scorshitty just can't do it like he used to
Past Lives was quite touching honestly
Babylon is a fun display of Chazelle's graphomania
Avatar is boring ass display of Cameron's graphomania
Banshees is a great display of acting, but some kind of implication of it being a metaphor for an Irish civil war or something felt tacked on and underdeveloped
Tar was good but is basically "we have Haneke at home"
Shocked to see Showing Up on here, but of course whoever watched it got filtered, very nice gentle movie, Reichardt is one of the few really good indie filmmakers US has, but her movies are admittedly extremely slow
Triangle of Sadness is Ostlund continuing wishing he was Bunuel, it was funny at points but it winning Palm d'Or was embarassing
Top Gun: Maverick is a decent blockbuster but a bit soulless
Northman is so fucking grey, and no, this isn't "natural winter colours" it's a fucking grey filter, the movie otherwise is okay
/tv/ dislikes Licorice Pizza but it was a cute boomer nostalgia fest idk
House of Gucci is terrible schlock, but it's kinda funny
Dunc is slop, Villenueve fucked up Blade Runner with his obsession with uninspired brutalism and he fucked up Dunc the same way, just a completely wrong approach in aesthetic
