People complain about the zod neck snapping thing but why was zod trying to Terraform earth? Kryptonians can live on earth just fine. They even mention there being other habitable planets besides earth and krypton early on.

Also they did have Clark’s mom talk about how Clark almost died as a baby because he struggled so much with the atmosphere. So doesn’t seem sustainable to try and remake your race in those conditions

You misheard. He said "terror farm". In a deleted scene it was explained they had to genocide most of humanity to induce terror which they would then farm fear to easily control remaining humans as slaves. It's like the dark knight when normies think they're hearing "I'm done here" when it's really "I'm Dunnier" a deep cut character from the silver age of comics.
