I really don't get how it is so "accepted" to treat children like shit whether it's hitting them, terrifying them, neglecting them etc.
The first time I worked on a paediatric/childrens ward I was absolutely shocked seeing what they actually looked like/how they acted and just couldn't understand why anyone would do that.
I don't go around starting fights with people but am definitely a lot more aggressive/violent than the average normgroid and would never do it in a million years. Same goes for domestic violence, I just don't get it.
Obs and gyne/pregnancy ward was a real eye opener as well. The standard of parent seemed so low, like maybe 1 in 10 or even higher were truly awful and this was in a wealthier part of country.
