That movie was absolute dogshit and the worst case of a blatant "reboot" movie I've ever seen

Its sole purpose is literally retconning everything that came before it so they could start the franchise over (which, ironically, they are now planning on doing again)

There would honestly be more dignity in just abandoning the original cast and never explaining what happened to them

Why was his hair and mutton chops so fucking shit in this. They even released a hair and make up sped up segment of him in the chair and two people doing his hair. Yet it looks fucking terrible.

Logan is a good, impactful movie, but it's not a "great sendoff" for Wolverine or the X-Men. It's a pretty damn awful ending all around.
Anyway they didn't even reverse the events of that movie or anything, they just plucked another Logan from the multiverse. You're incredibly naive if you thought they were never going to use Wolverine in a movie again.
