I only watched the first 1 or 2 seasons of this and there's only 1 or 2 episodes I like. The one I remember is where the dogs take over the Earth.

This season and last have no overall plot arc.
Ricks character has changed, from a drunk grandpa to something else.
The dialogue isn’t the same. The joke setups are not very funny or too quick. Like Rick makes a comment “don’t you read books anymore” or something, and a lot of dialogue isn’t funny.
So much time goes by I don’t remember Mortys son first episode.
I think the main issue is character dialogue/motivation. Then stories. I almost prefer the extreme riffs off scifi concepts from earlier seasons. They needed to come up with a new thing after killing evil Rick. Because this show was basically drunk Dr Who / Bttf. So it needs an adventure. The episode is Morty escorts his monster son into Ricks trash and rick and summer do a B plot or something. They probably combined two scripts into one here.
