because people loved Aliens. They wanted more games, toys, comics, and movies of that. For some reason though, they refuse to make more. They ran it in to a brick wall killing the characters fans liked, then abandoned the time period fans liked. First setting it in the far future, then idiotically setting it in the past to make bunches of nonsensical prequels that destroy the allure of Alien. Neill Blomkamp of all people is the only one who was listening that fans wanted it back in the Aliens time period and aesthetic.

Hawley was too dumb to understand the plot of the movie Fargo (seriously, look it up) before adapting it, and the show he made was constantly referencing various Coen brothers projects in a distracting way, so I’m finding it hard to have confidence in this despite some good actors like Olyphant and Edmondson. Really hoping it won’t do the Romulus thing and have an endless stream of nods to and quotes from the films

There are things I like but the constant memberberries for Coen brothers projects that have absolutely nothing to do with Fargo really grated on me. Student film tier approach to making something, just pointless copying. And because he didn’t understand a key part of the film (the Mike Yanagita scene which he thought was pointless quirkiness for the sake of it when it actually helps Marge solve the case) he’d do something random and weird just because, like the aliens in season two.
Hoping this will be watchable but his involvement and it being set so early in the timeline give me pause.

This has garbage written all over. My optimist prediction is a Romulus quality show, but with more stretched out plotlines to fill the season. Pessimist prediction is it's generic tv drama / soap opera level bullshit, sometimes interrupted by bad CG alien to remind viewers this slop is still in the alien franchise. Probably somewhere between the two, ala Star Gate Universe.
