The trunks only look good if they look like actual trunks not underwear. The best example of this is All-Star Superman.
I've never been a fan of the banana hammock Reeves wore, or the boyshorts Routh wore, Cain's red underwear, etc. The only good thing about Supergunn's costume is the trunks.
