i cant believe they fumbled the third movie so hard as they did

i mean, everything was there in the second movie, the setup was great with jj's son being an astronaut

the third movie shouldve been jj's son returning back to earth with the shuttle malfunctioning, causing it to crash land

spiderman saves jj's son and the rest of the crew

as spiderman leaves the shuttle, it explodes with the symbiote attaching itself onto him as refuge

jj still hates spiderman, but without him, he knows his son would be dead, so that there introduces a conundrum in jj's relationship with spiderman

seriously, i thought THAT was what raimi was gonna do with the third movie

i couldve have been so wrong...

Raimi’s Spider-Man 2 was a perfect second movie only matched by Nolan’s, The Dark Knight, however Spider-Man 3 was so awful I dropped it to number 2 as the best comic book movie trilogy. For that and that reason alone Nolan’s Batman trilogy is the best in all of comic book movies. TDKR, although not perfect it was leaps and bounds better than Spider-Man 3.

If I remember correctly Raimi didn't want Venom in the movie but was forced to by execs. SM3 makes more sense if you take Venom out of it and have Peter reject the symbiote at the end to set up Venom in a 4th movie.
