Question about the film Alien (1979)
How does FTL technology work in the Aliens Universe? I've only ever seen vague explanations about faster-than-light travel. The most I've found is that Weyland Co. discovered the "inverse relationship between time and velocity", but isn't that just General Relativity? Not much of an explanation. Sounds like maybe it's some kind of warp technology ala Star Trek?

I suppose they left it deliberately vague, as it's not important to the overall story of Aliens. I'm starting an Alien RPG campaign and it would be nice to know how ships are getting around, beyond a simple "they go real fast".
