Not that anon, but I saw one when I was a kid. It was in the woods by a creek, and this figure of a man that was completely invisible except for a dark outline that traced its shape walked through the woods and stopped on the far side of the creek looking at me. I tossed a rock at it, and it went right through the lines that traced its torso, and I got scared as fuck, turned and ran back to the camp I was staying at.

The only real answer is that Danny himself let him out, it was to kill Jack, that's why he even came up with the plan to lure him to the maze and make him get lost there to die from the cold, it's actually quite brilliant when you think about it and it's the only explanation that doesn't require ghosts to be actually real in the story
