That whole division is just jobbers, it's kind of insane. I don't know what Kubo was thinking with the idea of, "I'll make a captain who is supposedly so fucking strong that he has to use a special patch just to make fights fair, but then I'll make it so he's not even top 15 in strength in my own setting!" within like 50 chapters. It's almost as bad as some of the Naruto retcons.

How does the power system in Bleach work? Fundamentally it boils down to whoever has a greater spiritual power level is the stronger guy. Aizen due to his bullshit has a functionally unlimited power level that is constantly increasing and his cuck chair punishment is just a temporary solution to this problem. We see how strong he is (even in the chair) when he's merely placed near some assholes during his appearance in Blood War, and then we are explicitly told that he's even stronger now than when he fought Ichigo (who was only allowed to win that fight because Aizen secretly wanted to lose). You are out of your mind if you think Kenpachi is even top 15. It's really fuckin' easy to name characters from the manga who have performed greater feats than him and demonstrated they're just flat out stronger. Kubo fucked up by making him when he realized he'd need to introduce continuously more powerful characters down the road, and now he's forever a jobber.

That is what happens in every single shonen unless it's demonstrably proven that the character in question was holding back for narrative purposes, and in the meantime showed off what their actual power looked like against foes the protag(s) aren't ready to handle. DB making everyone irrelevant except Goku, Naruto with Kakashi being utterly pointless except for the personality conflict between him and Obito, fuckin' every shonen. One Piece guys desperately cling to the relevance of the rest of the crew when Luffy is basically just Wu-Kong in terms of strength (leading back to the DB problem). Power-scaling fucks everything bigly the longer a story goes on.

One Piece is usually pretty good for casual people. Just don't mention the length or say you're only watching the original few arcs. It's really good at keeping you engaged early on.

Other than that, you have the usual classics, but it's really up to taste. Anime isn't really a genre as much as a medium. There are vast differences to point where asking for an anime recommendation is like asking for a movie recommendation with zero context. Could be comedy, romance, sci fi, action, adventure, too wide a spectrum for recommendations without context.
