I guess I'm the only one here who actually watched Gutfeld before. He's firmly in the camp of alright. What I like about him and the rest of The Five crew is that they seem more like cartoon characters than real political commentators. They know that right-wing comedy is an oxymoron so they lean into being caricatures to let jokes and quips actually land. I wouldn't go as far as to say Gutfeld is funny, but the ratio of attempting humor to aggrandizing camera-mugging about serious business is massively skewed towards the former. Gutfeld is also smart, he purposefully has a small live audience so that when a joke doesn't land you can hear him try to course correct so as to get more than one chuckle. That alone makes it a more authentic show than whatever else is on late at night. Fox is actually underrated now in my opinion, especially after Tucker's departure. They have to compete with News Nation and Sky News so they slightly upped their game. You can also put it on at a liberal friend's house and they won't immediately have a conniption fit.

Bill wasn't the type of liberal that Fox liked. He didn't do the basic talking points and let everyone else walk all over him. He was absolutely unhinged and unpredictable and that's what made him so damn funny.
They didn't make him get rid of anyone else, he just lost a lot of regulars after that because people were loyal to Bill. Andy stayed around in an attempt to hopefully because the new host but they gave it to that red head pencil looking guy Tom Shillue.
I loved Red Eye and was a devoted fan for almost its entire runtime but I just can't get into Greg post-Red Eye. He needed Andy and Bill.
