He's passed out in the snow the opening shot of the movie. He then goes to fight the bad guy who ends up being his clone, gets his ass knocked out once again. He then is captured and imprisoned by Lex Luther and is humiliated the whole time and eventually tortured by Cryptonite which turns out is this other dude's power. So molecule man or whatever the fuck is automatically stronger than Superman. It's just loss after loss in the film. Super man doesn't even seem to do very well against the monsters. He lifts up the monsters and buildings to save people and squirrels but that's about all he does in the movie. Even the literal who villain is revealed to be able to kill superman with nanobots that fill his lungs. It's just so stupid. You never have a superman is awesome moment. Never. Even his dog kicks his ass when he greets him every time.
