It's a valid strategy. Dating apps are essentially this. I did the Tinder thing while I was bored out of my mind back during covid, and I probably had to swipe 20 girls for every 1 match, and I only get laid for every ... I don't know, like 10 matches probably.

I'd have about 1 date every week, though not necessarily a new girl every week of course. And eventually one of them stuck.
