South park has been in a death spiral of just re-using the same jokes to stay relevant. They've been in cruise control for a long time. Outside of a few episodes that get talked about collectively, most of the episodes in the last decade are pretty forgettable. South Park is going through it's own zombie phase like Simpsons has been going through for a long time.

Remember the episode where Kyle did the 911? They seemed very pro-establishment. The criticism of Obama was very soft. They didn't even touch on his supposed false nationality and they didn't even mention Biden. And with Trump, they've been stuck since 2015. With the Canadian Trump, it seems that Trump has frustrated them since then and now they've unleashed all that frustration in that episode. Honestly, if you analyze it closely, it seems pathetic that Trump frustrated them so much.

This. I don't care if they made fun of Trump. I just didn't think the jokes were funny or original. They just rehashed the Saddam bit and repackaged it with Trump instead.

The Garrison as Trump jokes were actually funny. It satirized Trump in a clever way that was different from how everyone else was doing it. Seriously. Why couldn't they have just stuck with the Garrison as Trump jokes? They were actually funny and worked for the show. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

This episode is not only rehashing the Saddam bit and going full memberberries with old South Park. It's just way too on the nose, and feels like there was barely any effort in coming up with jokes about Trump.
