Why does /tv/ hate him so much? Give one genuine reason without using buzzwords.
I thought the movie was really good and didnt feel reddit eventough it was made by gunn.

Buddy I don't even dislike the film. I just have zero interest in seeing it. Everything about it has looked bad, but so what there's lots of bad superhero movies now. It doesn't even stand out as a bad movie.

His face isn't square enough, the suit is weird and baggy, he's emoting too much for too little reasons.
It's not hate, it's just that he's very meh to me compared even to cheap tv versions.

i don't know what else he's been in but David Cornswet was just an awful actor throughout this. Every time I needed him to deliver emotionally he failed. He looks fine, The suit still looks bad but in motion/in the movie it wasn't that bad.

I don't hate him or the actor. I just think Gunn did the same "buddy banter" movie he always does, and shoehorned Superman into it. It simply doesn't fit Superman, and it's a rather flawed movie anyway. Why does it feel like a sitcom made by an amateur director? The cinematography is just abysmal. Fucking fisheye lens everywhere. Why is the CGI so godawdul?
I'm tired of hearing that "it's accurate to the comic". No. Nothing I've ever watched has been "buddy banter ft. Superman ". I'm not against Gunn, he should just stick to his "buddy group" movies.

Dude, I already said: it's not about portraying Superman. It's about the whole "buddy banter" formula that just happens to have Superman in it. He doesn't even feel like the main character in his own movie. It's either Krypto / Terrific / Lois / someone else bantering with each other, then Superman mumbles one line and gets punched into oblivion, and we're back some other shit and totally-not-Israel.
I'm not against the direction of "good guy Superman", I'm against turning Superman into Guardians of the Galaxy / Suicide Squad.
And to answer your question directly, even comic book artists are not so sure. What I'm tired of is "god Superman". Show him as a human, not a god.

I was just asking your honest opinion, anon.
However it seems to me you aren't even offering a consistent critique.

So...
Superman should be a human, not a god, but he also shouldn't be punched into oblivon.
He shouldn't be an aloof god, but putting him amongst other characters with silly dialogue is wrong and doesn't work as a portrayal of superman, but it isn't about the portrayal of superman.
