Even though I’ve read more comics than 99% of this board (doesn’t matter at fucking all because even reading a thousand individual issues is a drop in an ocean), I don’t know much about Galactus, so I’m not entirely sure if they intentionally treated him like a newly introduced, one-off villain (i.e. an adaptation of how he was treated in his first appearance before they expanded his lore), but it feels like that’s what they were trying to do.

That has always been a dynamic of the character. He's usually so wrapped up in his work that he's kind of a negligent ass to his smoke show of a wife who often feels like she's invisible around him.
Namor, Black Panther, and Doom have all been chasing that invisussy for decades. Usually it causes reed to pull his head out of his ass for a while.

I'm also an avid reader, mostly of silver age up to the 90's.
Galactus was very accurate to me. He makes quick decisions, is very imposing, doesn't feel much, gets annoyed when questioned and feeds. He's also so far advanced beyond his victims, even the smartest man alive has problems outsmarting him.
I loved this portrayal and am glad they didn't use the Ultimate Nullifier to defeat him.
I also really liked the Silver Surfer, even with the gender swap. She's so powerful, only Galactus can hurt her, which feels accurate to me as well. The surfer is a powerhouse.

The initial plan was to eat the planet.
This is done not by him eating it in a bite, he eats it by flying his planet sized spaceship through it, and the spaceship feeds it to him through the tubes in his back.
In this movie, he's always the size he is at the end of the movie.
After meeting the Fantastic Four and seeing the baby, he senses that Franklin Richards has The Power Cosmic, and decides to spare the Earth in exchange for the baby, because he considers his own hunger a curse, and wants to do some magic bullshit to give up his hunger by forcing it on Franklin instead so he can stop being so hungry all the time.

The failure of this movie is teasing a gigantic all-powerful villain of which the impliations are pure spectacle, but he ultimately does nothing but walk around town a little bit and then falls in a magical teleporting hole.

It's yet another boring Marvel fuckup. Eternals unironically conveyed the exact same thing with more sense of danger and consequence, even though that movie couldn't go through with that kind of calamity either.
But this movie should've done that with Galactus because that's his entire raison d'être, as well the audience for wanting to see him.

I watched The Flash with some friends and had a blast by how stupid piece of shit this movie was the entire time, but i wish the whole movie was like this scene. I expected the capeshit equivalent of Spy Kids for the modern age with bad cgi and batshit insane scenes and while some of scenes did nailed that feeling, it was nothing burger filler most of the time.
