Destroyed F4 and regained trust in dc and was not a flop in your path
>>213097541 (OP)It was borderline offensive. Lois was an awful autist and Krypto was obnoxious too. I didn't really buy the new guy as superman either. I hate James Gunn now.
>>213097541 (OP)F4's will unironically make 20-30 mil+ more than Superman did on their respective OWs
>>213097541 (OP)Gunnjeets are some of the nastiest copium ive ever seen concering a middling capeshit
>>213097722i thought so too until tonight but it's looking kind of unlikely at this point given how bad its thursday to friday jump is it's looking extremely frontloaded.
I'd say 60% chance Superman does better WW at this point depending on F4's legs, and almost no way F4 does as good domestically.
It was a flop in my books
>>213097785It's a certainty: the lowballed estimate is that F4 will make around 130 mil
>>213097817no it isn't. That was a bunch of retards on BOT earlier this week getting hyped up over its presales which have had a horrible multiplier like most MCU movies do and are frontloaded as fuck. Now it's looking at around 120m because it had an atrocious Thursday to Friday preview dropoff.
>>213097873>>213097817also to put it into perspective Superman basically did the opposite, where people were predicting like around 110m OW due to meh previews and then a bunch of walkups happened over the weekend due to families probably wanting to see the heckin pupperino and so it overperformed.
>but it's more or less the same OWyeah but one indicates much stronger legs, which Superman had (for a CBM) and a lot of MCU movies have struggled with.
>>213097873You're simply clinging to outdated data. Do your research and avoid further embarrassment. This is on the trades already.
The random guy you quote is a clear Gunn Superman fanboy and even he has already admitted F4 will go 130 mil+
>>213097722Wow a front loaded Marvel movie. What a shocker. Let’s see if can drop less then 60% like every recent Marvel movie that isn’t Spider Man. I don’t count Deadpool-Wolverine. Those were Fox properties
>>213098063>outdated dataAnon, this was literally posted like an hour ago. You're the one using days old data.
>tradesDeadline's last prediction was 125m, what are you on about? No trade is saying 130m minimum, that came from BOT users.
https://deadline.com/2025/07/box-office-fantastic-four-first-steps-1236468412/
>>213098028Reminder that the initial Superman estimates were 150 mil and that fatass from Box Office Theory said it'd make 170 mil lmao
>>213098103Initial Superman estimates by the trades were absurdly high, and then went down.
The main guy on BOT, Shawn, also overpredicted its OW, but he did correctly predict it would play more like a family movie and have better legs, which it ended up doing.
BOT forum users ( the same ones who were predicting A GAJILLION DOLLARS FOR F4 ) were underpredicting it because it had whatever presales and it ended up overperforming those.
>>213098084That's not the issue, if you're the same anon I replied to you're moving the goalposts. If not, these comparative metrics matter, not least bc Superman got a better release date than F4 and is a more expensive movie both in terms of budget and publicity
ps: Idgaf about either of them

Why’s F4 bombing in China? You jeets said Gunn was full of shit about whole countries hating America during a trade wa
>>213098173Superman had the worse release date though, since it was crammed between Jurassic and F4.
>>213098173F4 has almost the same budget as Superman. 200 million to 225
>>213098174mid white woman in the poster
>>213098095>Anon, this was literally posted like an hour ago. It's already outdated.
>Deadline's last prediction was 125mUpwards ("bound to shoot higher"), meaning: more than Superman did. 3 days ago they were talking about 110 mil.
>>213098154>it would play more like a family movie and have better legs, which it ended up doing.Superman's legs are just ok. Nothing spectacular
>>213098356>outdatedby what? it's the newest info
>bound to shoot higherThat's referring to their 100-110m prediction. Not 125.
>Domestic outlook was $100M-$110M, but the Matt Shakman-directed movie is bound to shoot higher. The numbers are from sources, not Disney. It's not outdoing Superman domestically Anon I'm sorry to say. It might WW since it's looking better in Europe than Superman did.
>>213098379they're great for a Summer comic book blockbuster movie, almost 3x. For movies in general they're just okay.
Fine even if it loses money supergirl and clayface will make money cause dc brand has been restored
>>213098213This isn't entirely false, it was risky and it harm the movie but it still got the prime spot while F4 arrived relatively late in the season
>>213098238Around 12% more expensive, that's not chump change
>>213098379Its legs are great. If China wasn’t boycotting capeshit it would be a lock it end up with The Batman final BO. It’s doing same numbers domestically
>>213098474>riskyto be fair they didn't choose to do it. They put Superman there first, and the other 2 picked after them. They also probably thought JW would move since it was absurdly rushed to meet that date.
>>213098404>it would play more like a family movie and have better legs, which it ended up doing.Nope. These are yesterday's estimates.
https://www.msn.com/en-us/movies/news/box-office-fantastic-four-first-steps-makes-244-million-in-previews-beating-superman-for-biggest-of-2025/ar-AA1JihIm
>>213098474True. But they didn’t predict a trade war happening when movie would be released which is hurting both movies and likely all capeshit from this point on for foreseeable future
>>213098442>>213098488No they're not, that's cope. This is an underperformance all things considered
>>213097722Marvel movies are notoriously front-loaded. If it has legs, that's usually an anomaly more than the norm.
>>213098527>would play more like a family movie with better legs>ends up linking previews, which are typically extremely high for comic book blockbuster movies vs. family movieswhat point are you trying to make here? this only further reinforces the point I made.
>>213098557it's an underperformance overseas. domestically it's been very strong. it's cope to suggest otherwise Anon.
>>213097541 (OP)I really liked Superman. I think F4 is very competently made, has great production, and surprisingly based messaging. But it just felt like something was missing. Superman is, technically, a much messier film but I enjoyed it more.
>>213098557The Batman made 369 million domestically. Superman will hit 300 by end of the weekend
>>213097541 (OP)>Destroyed F4they're going to have similar domestic, and F4 will have bigger international.
>>213098617Meeting and escaping Galactus is the strongest part of the FF movie, action wise. Superman builds up to le Big Fight Finale as people expect.
FF wasn't trying to jam CURRENT YEAR down my throat every 20 minutes, so I enjoyed it slightly more.
>>213098677>similar domesticat this point, very unlikely. F4 dropped like a rock from its Thursday previews. It's being ballooned up purely by MCU diehards atm, while Superman had a much better Thursday-Friday, indicating better legs/GA appeal. might be bigger international but atm I'm kind of doubting it.
>>213097541 (OP)Will this movie finally kill 10+ years of MOS/Sneeder and Injustice damage? only time can tell
>>213098699Both did so bad in china that it's negligible. F4 is doing well in Europe.
>>213097541 (OP)This dude is from my hometown and he's the same age as me. Pretty cool.
>>213098699China is no longer a big audience for cape movies, and I for one am glad. Maybe we can have Chinese villains and heroes from countries China is pissed at again.
>>213097785the drop is going to be BIG bro , a lot of people call it okey at best. The fact that Asia is giving it lower score than Supes tell you as much
>>213098617I liked them both about the same for different reasons. That said any retard can tell you Superman will end up doing better in the longrun. F4 is kind of slow, and if I was a kid I would be bored as fuck watching it, meanwhile I would probably be bugging my parents to take me to see Superman again every day. The fact that they're having similar ( or maybe worse ) domestic opening weekends is not a good thing for F4 because MCU movies tend to be extremely frontloaded.
>>213098733Yet he's a successful handsome actor and you're a literal nobody loser posting on 4chan
>>213098756i don't think it'll drop huge but I'm extremely confident it won't have anywhere near the holds Superman has. I expect it to perform with similar "meh" legs to Thunderbolts rather than cratering like Ant-Man 3 or something. That said it's internal multiplier for its previews based on current data is literally worse than Thor 4 so that's not a good sign.
>>213098772Wonder Woman was in no way whatsoever typical for the long term performance of WB cape movies. It's a complete aberration.
>>213098677>F4 will have bigger international.Yes but only with countries with big LGBT communities like France and Spain? You can thank Pedro for that.
>>213098646And won't go much further.
>>213098799Thor 4 barely made less than The Batman.
>>213098811Yeah, WW had great staying power and Superman is performing only slightly worse in terms of domestic holds.
>>213097722It wont, it's currently tracking under supes in NA as of right now, it's behind in Asia and the only regions where it's doing better are in Europe
>>213098796I'm an accountant for the state, I'm pretty successful. Not bad looking either.
>>213098843That's because it had a huge opening weekend of 143 DOM. We're talking about legs. If it had the same legs as it did and opened to the 120m F4 is predicted, it would have only made like 280m domestic which is probably about ~620m WW.
>>213098868yeah and The Batman isn't really a great movie for kids or families either, but it was released in March and has absolutely zero quips or fun summer blockbuster vibes so it plays to a different audience.
>>213098911Eh, I'm willing to let the weekend play out before I make any comparisons, we won't have the final weekend numbers for half a week.
>>213098947that's smart enough. Could always turn around. I wouldn't bet on it personally but much stranger things have happened.
>>213098983If Superman somehow manages $10m dollars in China and FF only takes 6 or 7, I don't think either studio will be overwrought about it.
They are more or less at Culture War with us.
>>213098863It will make more than Superman did on its opening weekend'-- AND Superman had a lot of extra days/sessions included in its "opening weekend" count.
We are talking about OW domestic btw, overseas is another subject with a different timing to look at the numbers
>>213099051China has been less and less important for a while now, especially since Studios only make like 25% of their gross back from China box office, while they make upwards of 60% for their first 2 weeks in U.S. A movie that makes 400m DOM is unironically more profitable than one that makes 600m in China.
>>213099053>it will make more than Superman did on its opening weekendDomestically? At this point very low chance. It's internal multiplier for its previews has been kind of shit. WW? Maybe.
>>213098174Thirdies are broke. Lmao @ people trying to say superman flopped because it didn't do well overseas, but then f four is also bombing.
Rangers just doesn't have any rupees to take Schlackma out to the theater
>>213098470This. Superman was a billion dollar success, we just haven't seen it all yet. Can you imagine a super girl movie getting green lit without superman first?
>>213097541 (OP)Sentry was pretty cool but this year delivered 3 capeslops to be forgotten in the following year. All of them are that not great not terrible 7/10 middle of the road blandness. While this year certainly recovered from the incredibly bad phase 4/5 and hamada trash products the bar has definitely been raised. Snyder will unfortunately be vindicated in the coming years. It will get to a point where people don’t care about the intricacies of accuracy and perfectionism, they just want to feel something. The consensus surrounding F4 sums it up pretty well: the individual aspects are great but product in its entirety is lackluster. The same would be said for Superman if it wasn’t coming off some very odd baggage. Once DC settles and its fans gain standards again soon it will follow the MCU’s collapse.
F4 will make almost the same as Supes at the end
>>213098470Supergirl is a guaranteed flop. Clayface could be a hit, because horror always has potential.
>>213099128>At this point very low chance. It's the exact opposite: it's a foregone conclusion.
>>213098470You highly overestimate Supergirl. This is the same mentality Feige had going into phase 4, where he could throw shit at the wall and make it work. Supergirl is guaranteed to make less domestically and especially internationally. There’s no such thing as brand restoration because brand damage doesn’t exist in the first place. Good and bad superhero movies follow each other all the time. Cinematic universes damage themselves.
Clayface might make money if its budget is truly 40m and no more.
>>213099259Clayface is reportedly only 40m dollars. It will almost assuredly make some profit unless it's total shit.
Supergirl I don't know. Historically female capeshit never does well but DC did manage to do well with the first Wonder Woman but maybe that was just an anomaly due to the times. It will have to be really good to make it.
>>213099259> Supergirl is a guaranteed flopJason Momoa as Lobo? Not happening. Chinks love him for some reason so it’ll do well in China
>>213099259Clayface also only cost 40 mil so it could turn out to be really lucrative without needing the cringe cope nonsense used to describe Superman as a financial success which it isn't
>>213097541 (OP)the floptastic fart could never geg
>>213099296It is not, Anon. Trades which are outdated were at best reporting it would have the same OW as Superman, now that's getting adjusted because it didn't have a strong Thursday-Friday growth.
It seems to only be like 31%. For comparison, Superman's was 51% and Thor 4's was 40%. F4 is looking extremely frontloaded and I wouldn't be surprised if it goes lower than 120m. I'm not sure why you're so confident it will do more, domestically at least.
>>213099438anon I have no personal stake and liked both movies but it's cope at this point to think F4 will do better than Superman's OW domestically. It's dropped with every set of real data that comes in. I'm fairly confident we'll wake up tomorrow with a revises statement from Deadline lowering the 125m prediction.
>>213099305Wonder Woman was Black Panther for women. It did not and will not repeat again. Capeshit is mostly for dudes.
>>213099297American women will drag their boyfriends to Supergirl, especially when it gets marketed as Clueless in spandex.
>>213099438MCU movies are notoriously frontloaded. Why having a 60% second weekend drop for a capeshit movie has become standard.
Kek DCcucks are seriously desperate
>>213099329Momoa is fat now. Women moved on.
>>213099492I tend to agree but then again it seems like kind of a chicken or the egg situation because all capeshit is marketed for dudes so of course it is.
Even the capeshit Marvel tries to make for women is so obviously not something a woman would like. Captain Marvel is practically wearing a bhurka she's so covered up, it has absolutely no romance, and she's boring and acts like a dude. if they make Supergirl have her cute skirt outfit, have her act like a relatable party girl then maybe it'll do okay but who knows, could also bomb. we'll see
>>213099492WW benefited from being the first big screen movie for her so the demand was there along with Pine carrying entire movie on his charisma. Novelty for WW and Aquaman is gone
>>213099105Yeah, but China's box office earnings significantly boost the overall box office revenue of their movies, which makes investors very happy. For Disney and other major companies, keeping investors satisfied is more important than actual profits.
>>213099591Also optics. Going to be real hard to get a billion dollar movie without China
>>213099329> Chinks love him for some reason so it’ll do well in ChinaJason Momoa killed the Fast and Furious franchise you nerd and Aquaman 2 flopped. Supergirl is a guaranteed bomb waiting to happen. You Gunnshill are so crazy.
>>213099259.
It could very easily be profitable because Momoa + Krypto will be enough draw together. Like that one anon said chinks love Momoa for some reason. If Alcock kills it and they actually adapt Woman of Tomorrow well then the word of mouth will probably give it good legs after an average opening weekend. It does have some legit hype behind it right now but let's see if that holds into next year.
It could also very easily flop because some retard decided to put it between TS5 and minions 3.
People that think Supergirl is going to be like Superman are for a rude awakening
That comic is very violent and masculine with amazing moments.
>gunnshill!!
this trannoid pro sneeder was saying China woud love Flaptastic 4 , also Supes got a better score lol
>>213098679It wasn’t really the action that I cared about. That sequence in space is great and all, but I just didn’t really care about much that was going on. I was able to connect with Superman. Ironically felt more human than any of the F4. Reed and Sue being excited about having a kid was endearing and all, but I didn’t really connect with them. Johnny was kinda there to move things along and Thing wasn’t given enough. He was the best part of the movie. Galactus was wasted (although I’m sure he’ll be back). I think it’s because there wasn’t really any arc for the characters in F4 besides Silver Surfer kind of. Superman had an arc that was satisfying to follow.
Superman come this monday will get its legs cutoff by Fantastic Four.Expect it to flop by next month.
>>213099709>Thing wasn’t given enough. He was the best part of the moviewhy didn't they do more with this nigga? for how shit the 2005 movie was I still remember the scene where he can't pick up his wedding ring with his gross rock fingers. he's easily the most compelling character of the 4
>>213099640At worse it will be a moderate success which is all it needs to be. Gunn isn’t planning a franchise after her. It’s all leading to a Superman-Supergirl
movie. Personally rather just have Superman 2 but capeshit all about team ups now
>>213099756I always found Superman more interesting when he's with other heroes as the guy leading the charge/inspiring desu, it's like the opposite of Batman. plus Supergirl is a Superman character anyway
>>213099753Same. The fucking wedding ring
>they are people mad that Superman didn't appear for the war after the kid raised the flag
how these tardos miss the point so bad lmao
> chubby bowlcut asshole green lantern that shoots big fuck you middle fingers out of the ground
> silly hard contrast lovable good boy doggo being played up as destructive and unruly every time theyre on screen
> superman protecting every possible critter and collateral damage exchange then going 'nah the justice gang will take care of the alien monster' while it blows everything up for laughs during his intimate dialogue with Lois
I'm over the moon for James Gunn's unbeatable sense of humor and his 10-15 year planned roadmap of the cheekywinkatthecameraverse
>>213099756Tbf DC fans have begging for a legit live-action cousins teamup for years. Them vs like Brainiac would probably be a huge draw because it's never been done before on a big scale. Especially if Supergirl does well.
>>213097541 (OP)How can americans watch this shit? How do they not get bored of the 10th iteration of the same character with a slight tweak?
>>213099919yeah I really don't see a Superman-Supergirl teamup as all that different from a Batman & Robin teamup. She's basically the closest thing he has to a sidekick.

>>213098174China stopped giving a fuck about Hollywood movies not featuring dinosaurs or blue people after Covid, specifically after The Battle at Lake Changjin because it showed them they had the ability to make movies themselves.
If Gunn doesn't make a world's finest film sequel he is fucked. Nobody wants to see a Superman/ Supergirl team up. That is unintresting. That would destroy all of Superman's good will.
Apparently there's basically no action in F4, is that true
>>213100293Bullshit. Deadpool and Venom made a killing in China last year. China restricting movies now after the tariffs and been confirmed studios finding it almost impossible to get wide releases in China. China is filling screens with their own movies which they conveniently been releasing around the same time a capeshit movie comes out
>>213100552That maybe true if CBMs weren't also doing poorly in Japan and Korea.
>>213100447there's 2 big action scenes, one in space and the final battle with galactus

The hecking wholesome pupper is a huge red flag.
As someone who hasn't watched dogshit capeslop since I walked out of the theatres during Thor 2. Saw Fantastic 4 and Superman back to back.
Superman, best Superhero movie I've seen since the classic superhero movies (1989 Batman, Raimi Spiderman etc etc). Lots of good comedy, Superman actually acts like a 1950s comic book character, actually feels like a comic book movie. That said, the film's pacing makes it feel like it starts to drag. The film just keeps going on and on and on, felt like 3-4 hours honestly. Also didn't like how kind of weak Superman was. Only at one point fighting chaff at the end does he show off decent level of super powers, every other time he's just kind of struggling.
Fantastic 4. Just another boring capeslop film though inoffensive. Mr Stretch when he uses his stretch abilities, can only stretch like, 3-4 meters lol. Bad guy is a big robot who wants to eat the planet and fuck a baby for some reason that is never actually explained, and a silver anime girl who sells out other planets to protect her own. Main sort of character plot of the film is that Mr Stretch and his wife are having a baby, who big robot galactic man wants, and will spare earth if they give him the baby. There is also some tension between Mr Stretch and the wife, because he's a closeted homosexual and she sort of picks up on that vibe so he might be willing to give up the baby to go enjoy no loads refused parties, or that was my takeaway from the lead actors performance.
Nice aesthetics of Fantastic 4 though, best part of the movie. Wish they actually spoke like 1960s people. At least Superman said stuff like "Oh Golly gee!".
Superman = Worth seeing if you have spare time and nothing better to do. Wouldn't go out of my way though. It is still capeslop and the film can feel like a slog in length.
Fantastic 4 = Worth streaming from some free streaming site on Yandex.
>>213102643i agree with this post completely. good taste anon
>>213102634Try to sound less Indian, next time you post.
>>213102643>Lots of good comedyI'll never understand why this is considered a positive.
Humor outside of comedy is a red flag that points at MCU writing.
>>213102698I'm not, I'm danish, if I watch superhero movies is for an epic action movie with a great soundtrack and good action scenes.
Neither Superman nor Fantastic 4 have this, they are lame as fuck.
In fact, I think the last non-lame superhero movie I've watched would be either Captain America Winter Soldier and X-Men Days of Future Past.
These two along with Spiderman 2 should be templates of how these movies should be, not these insufferable quipfests with no stakes and action scenes consisting of awful action and Unreal Engine 5-tier CGI.
>>213102643>Nice aesthetics of Fantastic 4 thoughYou mean those pijamas?
I'll never understand why people praise when superhrro movies are comic accurate when that just means the movie is going to look dumb as shit.
>>213102741You mean like comic book movies that aren’t like comic book movies? Just stick to your shit Danish American rip off action movies
>>213102750That's a comic book, it's for 5 year olds, it has humor for the same reason Lego videogames do.
Movies aren't comics, there's higher standards to reach.
Not that they are too high, the genre used to do it pretty consistently until Avengers came out.
>>213102775Why would I praise superherl comic book accuracy when comics have awful writing and some of the worst character design ever in entertainment media?
>>213102643>Mr Stretch and the wife, because he's a closeted homosexual and she sort of picks up on that vibe so he might be willing to give up the baby to go enjoy no loads refused parties, or that was my takeaway from the lead actors performance.Kek, it's wild they keep claiming he's not a flaming faggot.
>>213102777not that anon but weird take. most blockbuster movies have comedy, and they've had it well before MCU. even The Dark Knight had quips.
>>213102809But they aren't defined by it, nor they obnoxiously focus on humor to the point where it undermines every single action or emotional scene.
These movies are insufferable in how you can tell they are written by an insecure Gen Xer incapable of writing anything sincere and serious.
And what's worse is that it's spread out to other genres, the Star Wars sequels suffered a lot from that awful MCU humor.
>>213097541 (OP)>Literally the worst superman movie box office since superman 3.But, I mean... it still has time to beat the third Snyder superman if it stays in theaters another month.

>>213102777> there's higher standards to reach. Not really. It’s hilarious to me retards that want to make shit based off shit made for kids to be adult and “serious.” Donner’s Superman movies are ridiculous and so are Raimi Spider Man movies. They’re suppose to be
>>213102894Donner's are a product of their age, but Spiderman movies know when to cut out the stupid quips at least.
The ones I'd define as ridiculous are all post 2015 superhero movies including the first Avengers one, with Thor 4 standing as the very embodiment of everything wrong with the superhero genre.
>>213102925Actually the biggest complaint with Raimi’s Spider Man was the lack of quips because Spider Man is the biggest wise ass in comics. Why him Deadpool go at it
Gunnjeets lost. Will not even beat MoS' BO despite tickets being 50% cheaper back then.

>>213103083Yes. More people went to the movies when tickets weren’t over priced. Very good jeet.
>>213100742>#3 summer hitCringe. Reminds me of when the live action Little Mermaid was released and Disney was coping by highlighting that it was 4th biggest box office on that specific weekend or something
>>213097541 (OP)I've never seen a more obvious flop get shilled this obsessively online. It's like the film equivalent to assassins creed shadows.
>>213100331It could go a number of cool ways, but I guess my instinct is have Lex fuck with them both whilst he's under house arrest and awaiting trial so it has Public Enemies inspiration
>Superman realises Lex has a way to get what amounts to a slap on the wrist, needs more evidence to bury him>seeks out Batman, a consulting detective here>Lex realises they are closing in on a smoking gun to hires all number of supervillains to kill them>maybe have Deathstroke as the top dog, he owns both of them - with Superman stuff like kryptonite and kryptonian metals
>>213100878>>213100932I feel way too married to the DCAU Brainiac. I can't get behind him being a green alien vs. AI. I'm down for him growing a techno-organic body as his prime vessel to inhabit though.
