There must’ve been some downtime though. The enterprise had 1000 people aboard, I don’t remember the crew compliment off the top of my head but let’s say 500-600. The vital people are gonna be awake during the morning and afternoon shifts. That probably leaves about 100-150 people to operate the ship between slow hours. Anything can happen because it’s space, which of course means CO’s are always on call, but when their traveling to a destination, running diagnostics, or just not on a mission, it’s mean that people can sleep and relax.

Mostly pockets of helium. The moon is made from the debris of a collision between a planet called Theia and Earth during the Hadean age. The plume of debris formed into our moon so it's mostly got what we have, but the helium is what we have the least of.
Interestingly enough, the remains of Theia are still detectable as a portion of the mantle that's got a different density than the rest of our mantle, close to Africa near the Indian Ocean.
