Watched Karma. It was a pretty solid mini series but I have some complaints.
Not really a fan of how they had us in the perspective of Jaeyeong, then jumping us around to everyone else at different time periods (I think writers are mistakenly convinced that this somehow makes their plot more sophisticated), where it really would have benefitted from having us in the perspective of Juyeon first to establish her as the main character. By the time they showed her, I didn't give a shit.
By the end I thought, "what was the point of any of this?" You could say "people getting what's coming to them" but an inarguably evil person doesn't get punished but rewarded at the end.
A really strange series that should have either got more behind their goody female lead or make a bold choice of trying to make viewers root for an antagonist.

Yeah while I enjoyed it, I do have to agree with your complaints. Outside of entertainment value, there really was no reason to care about any of the characters or their fate. Ju-yeon's reveal felt too contrived to me. The pacing is good (maybe thanks to the short episode count) and it is entertaining in the moment, but the writing is a little too shallow to be completely satisfying

at the end of episode 6 i was thoroughly slined broken
the slinering slineyed into my slinel cord and now im paralysed.
arin's acting is lackluster, the pacing was too fast in places, arin becoming friends with the school kids happened almost instantly. we knew the teacher was involved somehow early on and the reveal in episode 6 was sort of ok, not special at all in my opinion. the effects though were cool and the whole sequence in that world was very cool, felt twinpeaksian, the concept in and of its self is nice too, and the audio was fantastic. its definitely open for another season or rather the world is now set to have spinoffs etc.
