Any sufficiently advanced alien civlization would've already noticed we have a planet in a habitable zone with presumably all the elements that can create life.
Even if the alien civ is based on life totally unlike our own, it would still detect that a planet exists in our solar system with elements that can create life etc etc..

So given that that's the case, they can fling a probe to see what they find here.
Bear in mind that space vessels using nuclear explosions for propulsion are technically viable even with our tech right now that can reach a considerable percentage of the speed of light.
So an alien race can create those, send them towards us to check out what's going on here and to ram them into Earth if need be.

If we're a threat they can simply lob a "kinetic missile" at us that on impact would wipe out most of life on Earth with zero fuss.
