When you compare this supeman to Cavillman, you see that this one is an irresponsible idiot. Cavillman defeated Zod, and perhaps a few thousand people died. Here, in 2025, Kikeman gets an entire city broken up because he was too much of a pussy and got by only because the writers allowed him to job hard. Like, even the nanotech girl was stronger than him. Like fucking come the fuck on. Cavillman had the decency to take the conflict seriously, and really did want the betterment of humans. He also wasn't fucking jobbing around with "muh news" -- Alexander Luthor was way more devious than baldy. Baldy got fucking demotivated by a fucking news report. Like, what? Some bitch can take a few photos and the news can report a single line and that is enough to defeat him even though he had a literal mini universe? What the fuck were the writers smoking?

It's the definition of a "fine" movie. The fight scenes are bland, the music is bland, the dialogue is incredibly bland. It's kind of a nothing movie. There's nothing memorable about it at all.

Also, the entire plan concocted by Lex makes no fucking sense, and the unwashed brown masses of whateverpur were clearly supposed to be palestinian and did fuck all instead of begging for aid. At no point was anything given enough weight to become a personal issue for kikeman. The whole point of Superman is that he is the light that leads the way to the future, that he is someone that can be universally trusted and followed because he uncompromisingly fights for what´s just and right. His doubts, his fears, his "i´m just a country bumpkin trying to do the right thing" are reserved for Clark. Superman is an icon shrouded in the mysticism of heroes. He is the one that inspires others, even other super heroes, to be better, to keep moving forward not giving up, that´s Superman.

There is literally no point if he is reduced to a pathetic more human character doubted by half of the population and not respected by other heroes. I understand Gunn´s intentions though, these are early days and he has yet to earn all those things, which i wager is the very reason Guy and Terrific were chosen, their egos know no bounds so a change on their attitudes would best reflect all this but i can´t say i approve of the twist of Jor El´s secret agenda as it pretty much justifies Luthor or of how Superman himself can´t really keep the duality of the character. Those are catastrophic mistakes of interpretation.
