Ultimate Fantastic Four was the best Ultimate run IMO.

I have no idea why the rest of the MCU is heavily based on Ultimate comics and they just did heckin retro FF instead, when they had one of the few actually good Ultimate versions, with a Reed so kino he has now replaced Dr. Doom as the main antagonist of the mainline Marvel universe.

Maker is too much fun and the children of divorce on tiktok who love classic FF wouldn't be able to handle their heckin wholesome Reed and Sue not being a perfect couple. I've seen them calling him an evil incel and shit like that which makes it clear they only read up to Ultimatum and drop any engagement with The Maker's storyline.

I remember the comics had a lot of science and it was more hard science than magical science fiction as it usually happens in comics.All of that was well argued.
Sue's relationship with Reed also felt like a real relationship with everything that entails.

They are scared to tell stories because it's easier to just appeal to a feeling instead of a hero's journey where a character changes. They need the characters stagnant because they use them as action figures instead of growing, changing individuals while still represent a hard archetype in the Marvel pantheon.

They are trying to double dip. It use to be just let the IP carry, then cast a lesser known star. Now they want to try to get a better known actor too for the box office bump.
Plus if rumors of Reed being the leader of the Avengers in future films is true you can't cast a 20 year old. As you already have an aging cast.

I actually wanted at least half of the movie to be more like this. All of the little stuff showing the Fantastic Four taking down a bunch of their B and C tier villains was the most fun part of the movie.
