Well, post a link or graph to that then instead of one that isn't relevant to what you're saying. But regardless of whether it has been empirically proven that religious people are happier, the main point is that it would be much easier for a person to be happy if they believe in religion due to the many psychological comforts offered as part of that belief system. And from here the conversation steers towards how sound that underlying belief system really is. If it isn't, then the comforts may lose value or helpfulness.

And yes, happy people don't end their life. But Christianity doesn't say you need to be happy to not end yourself. It says if you end your life, you've committed a sin and will go to hell. So even someone who is unhappy and suicidal while still believing in Christianity would be a lot less likely to end their life compared to a non-believer.
