Depends what you call "kino". I agree he has no 10/10s but he has some OK stuff.

โ A Perfect World
Not perfect, but pretty good. And more importantly itโs good *because* of Costner. He plays a difficult character really well. You have to almost root for him but not quite.
โ Tin Cup
Decent light fun if youโre in the mood. Better than Bull Durham I think.
โ JFK
Oliver Stone is annoying and wrong about everything but if you ignore that this is well-made and watchable. And KC is good in it. (OK, he's doing the same painfully-virtuous thing he always does, but Stone uses it well.)
HONOURABLE MENTIONS
โ Bodyguard
If you want by-the-numbers soap opera this is OK. And it's nice to know that Madonna REALLY wanted to play Rachel but KC nixed it because of her being a cow to him in that backstage video thing. (She would have ruined it too, because you have to actually like Rachel.)
โ Dances With Wolves
Quite watchable. Obviously got overpraised at the time because of INDIANS GOOD politics but no need to hate on it too much because of that.
โ Open Range
Some very good things in it but it ends up falling back on trite tropes. Pity. Missed opportunity.
