This is a very complicated manuever that is much harder than it looks. The carpet(?) helps the cat to keep its footing. It must slowly advance forward, gently boop the doggo with one hand with light force, just enough to get it to back up, while at the same time gently closing the door. If there is no carpet and it's like a wood floor then the effect is even more impressive.
Notice how the cat slides its left paw up on the door, then holds in the same spot, smacks doggo with the right in the middle of the movement, then continues with force to close the door. Impeccable timing. Purrfect, even. Cat did not fail today.
