I went to see it like middle of the day on a tuesday because I got a free ticket from some site called atom tickets. I was the only one in the theater. As this scene begins a teenage hispanic theater employee walks in, holding up his phone to the screen while it plays the song "nasty nasty" by lil boosie. He then crip walks out of the theater as driver's character gives his response.

Why was the Megalopolis DVD not sold at Wal-Mart? Shit, man I really anticipated getting a hardcopy and hate going thru amazon to get it. Last resort is torrent, I really don't wanna do that, yet that seems like the only option at this point. Fucking a, what did FFC do to get blacklisted from Wal-Mart of all places

This is one of those things that makes people seem alien to me. What don't they like about it? Do they even know or are they just collectively going along with what others told them to think? It's not a good movie but it was still better than anything that came out this year, and most of the last 10 years that everything has been so awful.

Well, Megalopolis didn't show in theaters in my town or the nearest city. Theoretically, if I wanted to see it I'd have to travel 2 hours and 34 minutes, and find a place to park in an area that charges something like 20-25 bucks to park, then find a hotel or drive back after the ending. No way I was doing any of that. Guess I'll wait for the North American DVD release, if that ever happens, shit, I'd love to talk and bullshit about this film if I ever fuggin see it. I think it was the best movie of 2024. Not because it was a perfect movie but because it was great to see such an experimental movie of ideas. Also it filtered like 90% of the population. It's like Southland Tales. It's a Rorschach Test. It's also best viewed in chunks instead of straight through. It's a lot to take in. Should have been a premium cable miniseries instead of a theatrical film. I love it.

First hour was all over the place, second hour was better. Despite the effects, it was not as epic as he wanted it to be.
