I seriously need a zombie movie about the breakdown of society/the beginning of the outbreak. The first five minutes were absolute kino and I need more of it. I would have liked the movie if it was just more of James and Spike surviving the wild, but that wouldn't be anything worth talking about. But I will not forget the commentary on life, death, and love that it instead tries to tell. Kelson's scenes are where the movie does what it really wants, and I think it works brilliantly as three parts, marked ditinctly by the three times Spike sleeps:
>Spike's dad teaches him about death. How to kill, how to avoid death, how to run from the reality of the world. Evidenced by the focus on James' lying. He isn't just trying to keep Spike in the dark, he is himself avoiding the truth. Spike has a confusing nightmare and wakes up to keep running from death.
>Spike's mother teaches him about life. Her love always perseveres through her condition and instead of trying to harden him and tell him what to do, she tells real stories, reinforces his kind nature and protects his innocence (best evidenced by the scene of her killing the infected while Spike is asleep but not waking him at all).
>Kelson teaches him a synthesis of both. Death is not something to be afraid of, and life is something to be loved even after it ends. Spike falls asleep watching his mother depart to her death, but holding new life in his hands, showing that life does go on. Life can't beat death, but death can't beat love.

anyone else think the BOOTS BOOTS BOOTS part was kino as fuck? like that whole bit with the infected during the night and the splicing of that Laurence Olivier Henry V footage? idk what to call it, just a stark contrast between "England" and reality

or even a zombie pajeet can have a white baby
>>213308890It was the worst part of the first half, seizure inducing pseudointellectual crap

Why is /tv/ so media illiterate? 28 Years Later is a simple yet good movie, an easy message to understand, yet just like every other good movie the dumb idiots on /tv/ don't get it. I swear, everyone here is just a Jeet worshipping Zack Snyder.
>>213309136fuck off boyle, you suck, next time don't use ai to make a movie
>>213294708They killed many of the infected and the alpha who was stalking that area when Dad and Boy went out on their run. It was also Boy's first time actually seeing these things. Boy is also motivated by love for his mother and hatred for his father, fuelling him forward the second time he goes out. Boy and Mother saved by infected from Soldier and then eventually Doctor. Boy has no fear after Mother dies because he has nothing except his own life now. Having less fear makes his aim better.
>>213309159You're literally a Jeet.
>>213309136>yet good moviedamn how low are your standards?
>>213300515Because you just shoot them. 28Days Zombies are literally no more dangerous than a rabid person. You shoot the crazy person running at you and they die. There's no requirement for a difficult headshot, no undeath to keep them operating at peak capacity after days with no food. They are literally just a rowdy person who has additionally lost the ability to use weapons, protect themselves or strategize. Any moderately armed force could put them down in hours. Like what do you think would happen if you got a gang of people in t-shirts to charge across an open field at an army unit? Much less one armed with automatic weapons? They'd get mulched.

>>213293517 (OP)I liked the melodrama.
>zombies are people tooHow did you even get that out of it? Dr Kelson named the alpha, but it's not a major theme of the movie.
>>213294808Not confused, just pleasantly surprised.
>>213296336The ending was hilarious, but then I remembered it was tying in to a sequel which I have no intention of seeing because it's directed by the lovely Nia. It's also setup in the opening, which I had completely forgot. Overall those bookend parts are the weakest parts of the movie, I would have liked it better if it was just a standalone story.
>>213308890>anyone else think the BOOTS BOOTS BOOTS part was kino as fuck?Yes, it was. It really helped drive the point that them going on the scavenger hunt is like going off to war. The editing in general was really well done.
>>213309136This. It's just a simple coming of age story.
Opening scene with the teletubbies and church was the best scene I've watched in 2025 and the "wacky" ending was just the icing on the cake

>>213309819Watch the entire movie because it's kino
>>213309964It insists upon itself
>>213309805>toxic masculinitySure, but for something Alex Garland wrote, that theme isn't really as prevalent as his other movies. The most obvious thing I can think of is that conversation with the Swede where the mom calls him a dick.
>hating your fatherIt's not exactly hating your father, it's more like the kid realizing his father is flawed and making his own decisions, which is part of what coming of age is.
>euthanasiaI think you're being ironic. I don't think the film is making a political case for euthanasia. Even if it is, I'm not personally blanket opposed to euthanasia, I think the scenario the film presents is one where its use is justified.
In any case, I wasn't really trying to say the movie is a based and redpilled right wing film or anything like that, obviously it's not, I just enjoyed it for what it is. The lack of diversity was probably not intentional, but was welcome nonetheless.
>>213308772its true, "trivializing" death is useful for any warrior based society.
i think trivializing is a bad word for it though, its more like honoring it.
its why militaries put skulls on their insignia. because death is a part of their life.

>>213309792>Opening scene with the teletubbies and church was the best scene I've watched in 2025Absolute weakest part, tryhard edgy garbage. At least the rest of the movie is good, but that opening does nothing to get you hyped for it.

>OH NO
>Big Dong Nonce rips a head off like tissue paper then kills another with the head

when I saw this clip leaked I realized I didn't want to see this movie, its basically just naked wolverine running around but with big pecker and druid abilities
>>213309136it's not equal to 28 days later. it doesn't share the same quality.
the bullet time effect was retarded
the son getting mad at the dad was retarded.

how would you have changed it?
>>213310305the atj scenes are all that is watchable in this shitshow, even ralph fiennes is drowned in all the edginess writers decided to imbue him with
>>213310495first exposure to the infected for these dudes. probably first military contact, ever.
have you never had a spike of adrenaline before?
running becomes awkward, like youre in a dream, falling. youre watching a teammate get his limb torn open, your stamina is fucked. you try to aim and your scope shakes. shits moving too fast to hipfire, you'd shoot your own buddy. soldiers arent rambo IRL, they're basically wagies that operate expensive deadly machines.

>>213310710the guns and shit just made it worse for them most likely, howd they get such a horde on them in the first place, right?
the kid and mom are just lucky, and they survive because theyre low key.
the lamer plot armor imo is ralph fiennes jab where he can immobilize them instantly.
>>213310737>28 years later>2002common core math
>>213309588Education was already this movie.
Spike got a guiding hand and a community.
Jimmy presumably didn't and had to fend for himself in the wilderness. Though it's pretty impressive he has managed to survive this far and form an infected killing cult. Though as suggested by the movie his cult probably uses the infected to attack other people by leading them to them.
>>213310212Not fully decked out. They were 8 man survivors of a lifeguard patrol. They probably had suboptimal outfit to begin with, we don't know how many roving infected groups they've already encountered and spent ammunition on, and maybe half the men we saw in the canal when they were running away were already out of ammo.
Their presence and distracting/killing of infected might also be why Spike and his mom had an easier time of it.
It all makes sense.
>>213310729Wouldn't work, covid is airborne rage is bloodborne.
>>213310816you know the movie takes place in the near future, right?
the outbreak was in 2002.

>>213310900>Though as suggested by the movie his cult probably uses the infected to attack other people by leading them to them.suggested just by him crouching on the cliff observing/scouting while his teams chilling nearby?
worst part about this whole movie is the direction it went they could of went anywhere with it and actually write a compelling story but instead went the slop route its actually laughable how these directors muddy there own name by not giving a single fuck about what there putting on the screen
Wouldn't it be funny if the world stages a liberation of the UK, only to find the island clear of infected, to be replaced entirely by hostile blond-haired Jimmy's.
And then they revealed that this place exists irl and it's called Australia.
South Africa would be a case where the chavs lost
>>213310933so it's not 2002 technical standard you idiot, it's 2030 technical standard
>>213311033yeah, most probably agree it shouldve just been the initial woods survival kino. its not like you couldnt have told compelling stories with that "simple" plot either.
>>213310305Ya it was like an ancient warrior regaling his tribe with embellished war stories around a campfire. Pure fucking kino.
>>213311033>could ofcould've of
>>213311027When Spike is cooking the fish there are shrill whoops and calls from the brush that sound like some form of communication we haven't heard from the infected who tend to just howl and scream. Then he gets ambushed by a group of infected shortly after, and gets 'saved'.
>>213304640She said it herself, she was in pain.
I thought the film was great. The audience reaction to it really shows how they're unable to deal with anything challenging.
So was this one big joke?
>>213311333I like how when the swedish guy is explaining what a phone is to Spike, there's this cartoonish radio sound as the camera zooms in on Jodie's face.
>>213311357>uuuh asymptomatic carrier>uuuuuuuh janitor has access to EVERYTHING>janitor infected is supersmart and the US military utterly fails at everything>uuuuuuuh kid is asymptomatic and spreads it to Paris
>>213311457Speaking of that movie, how come there were zero cameras monitoring the mom? There were like a million cameras overseeing the streets, but not a single one in that entire lab
>>213302995Because from spike's POV his dad is not telling the truth and also ends up with another lady while his wife is home. Spike doesn't feel like he earned it + gets sick on their booze. You could argue the dad doing that was for morale, to build up everyone's spirits and make his son's role as a new hunter solidified but spike's too honest for it to matter to him. To everyone else it was a victory.
Evidence points to the looming threat of a real life zombie apocalypse.
The first adverse reaction listed in the pfizer documents released by FOIA for their vaccine is 1p36 deletion syndrome. If you look up the symptoms of that you will find it is the elimination of the frontal cortex and gives the propensity to bite. What's very odd is this was the symptom post vaccination. 1p36 gene disease is a congenital disease which means you're born with it. So how is it possible that this is the first serious adverse event from the Pfizer shots? They wanted to lock this information up for 75 years.
Media has been released with predictive programming of corporations and government bioweapons getting out of control creating the zombie apocalypse.
The US Military has wargamed a plan against a zombie invasion. FEMA has put out zombie commercials and CONOPS. CONPLAN-8888 was created by Stratcom in 2011. On page 2 it says the plan uses examples just for demonstration, don't worry about it so we don't offend other countries. When you look through, it's all about five different types of zombies. There isn't anything in the plan about opposition forces. There isn't anything in the plan about winning political battles or counter insurgencies. It is only about a zombie apocalypse and defending it.
Every NIMS (National Incident Management System) compliant agency federal, state and local has already had their zombie apocalypse training. They've already done their practice. The CDC has had a zombie apocalypse preparedness website up for the last five years. Now they've reduced it to a PDF cartoon.
In the Amazon services contract, section 42.10, states that they are not liable for damages in case there is a zombie apocalypse.
It's here frensโฆ the happening.
The latest dose of predictive programming: 28 Years Later
SPOILER ALERT
The opening scene features a room full of children being slaughtered by rage zombies.
The main character is a young kid named "Spike" (spike protein?) who enters manhood and ventures out of the safe village of survivors with his father in order to experience the dangers of the quarantined mainland.
His mother is sick, he later sneaks out of the village with her to protect her from turning. A young swedish soldier rescues them from a horde of rage zombies. He boasts about 'being like a viking' shortly before the alpha zombie beheads him.
Spike stays on the mainland instead of returning to the village and at the end of the film is cornered by a horde of zombies. He is rescued by a character named "Jimmy", who is a spitting image reference to Jimmy Saville, and his band of chav ninjas. Seriously.
The filmmakers even got cheeky with Red Deer scenes shown to the audience.
>believing in zombies

you can already see how it's gonna go between Sir Jimmy and Spike. the start of the movie is like a warped and condensed story of Spike. kid was saved by the selfless mother, basically doomed by his shitter father thinking it's the second coming. guess there will be some "dad's suck" bonding before Spike realizes he's a psycho

They did the same thing with DMC. As soon as Netflix got a hold of the IP, they immediately began exploring how the demons were actually misunderstood and had families of their own, and they are actually the victims of an evil American billionaire empire.
Same as Rings of Power - what if the Orcs were actually relatable with compassion and empathy?
Ridiculous demoralisations.
