Unpopular opinion, it's my favourite PTA movie with Inherent Vice.

>At no point do any characters eat pizza topped with licorice

Garbage waste of time

What are your personal thoughts on both? Why do you enjoy LP?
It's really grown on me

LP feels like his most personal, least pretentious work. Character relationships are his biggest strength probably, this movie is really built off of that but keeps it in a smaller, more lighthearted scale. Inherent Vice is just fun to watch, atmospheric, great performances, I like the haze of it all. Really strong, relatable relationship drama in IV.

Funny, I thought Licorice Pizza was forgettable and a waste of time, I don't feel like watching it ever again. Inherent Vice has aged like fine wine however, it's a masterpiece. Probably because the cinematography, acting, music, it's all fantastic on top of Pynchon's great story. I've seen this film over 10 times, enjoy it more every time.

Unironically, I think Licorice Pizza is only enjoyable if you have experienced young love and adult love.

yeh Inherent Vice is a great movie, very rewatchable. I was completely confused upon first watch, but I eventually gained a good idea of the plot, characters, and even some of the jokes.

I hated it the first time and turned it off after 20 minutes. Second time it became my favourite.

Indeed. It's very soulful and resonates with emotional and cultural authenticity. Also multiple set pieces from weird to funny
