I grew up in Missouri and you would usually never see a car above $2000 anywhere. One day my mom pulled into a McDonald’s drive thru and there was a minor hubbub because there was a purple Lamborghini in line. The line was moving slowly for other reasons, and both my mom and the Lamborghini pulled off to just place the order inside. As we were walking in at the same time as the woman from the lambo, who was wearing huge sunglasses, my mom got a wry smile and suddenly said to her, “So what did Brad order?” which didn’t make sense to me until I realized the woman was randomly Angelina Jolie. She immediatiely pulled a U-turn and yelled out, “God—fuck it!” getting back in the Lambo. Probably was hoping she could go in without being recognized. My mom said loud enough for her to hear, “Wow, what a bitch.” To this day she has a seething resentment of Angelina Jolie and the actual story grows more and more confrontational and gains a new line of dialogue every time she tells it.
We figured after the fact that the Pitt were in the area visiting Brad’s family (he’s from Missouri).
