Wayne's World is such a time capsule of a movie. Comes out just when hair metal was still king in the public concsiousness and grunge hadn't hit yet. And it was literally an extended SNL skit. More than anything, it captured the essence of "I just want to have fun, no matter what." I don't think it could have come out at any other time and have the impact that it did. SGs sound small and wirey, their headstocks dive to the floor like a brazilian soccer player, the sustain is a joke.
There's a reason why a manlet and a guy with chopped off fingertips are the most famous SG players, it's a massive compromise. Most SG players are using Les Pauls in the studio, too.

I find it impossible to listen to Yngwie for more than 60 seconds, it's just boring. That symphony would be improved by removing him from the stage, for the most part, but it sounds great when he's not on shredding tangents and simply redeems the Castlevania OST saars.

I've heard many people saying this, but after using one a for few years I actually really do like this guitar. Being able to access the higher notes without having a block there to connect the body and neck is a godsend and makes playing solos much more easier. I don't really like the shape, but it's very comfortable to play on and the whole neck dive complaint isn't that big of a deal.

Mahogany is a dense and heavy wood. Les Paul himself copied Anton Stratavirius's violin formula of mahogany body and neck, maple cap, and ebony fretboard. And fuck-the-duck batman it worked and produced big rich tones.

Epiphones are alright. Their build quality is pretty decent, and they've looked a lot better ever since going with a more Gibson-like head. The better ones are made with Gibson pickups and parts.
