It's a shamefully underrepresented genre despite so much potential.
I always hoped Tarantula would make a scifi horror but he just went full retard instead.

OP, Life Force (1985) is one of the wilder movies I've ever seen.
It's got a cheese factor, it's far from perfect.
Only really the opening of the film takes place in space, with most the rest of the movie being a horror adventure across the UK, and a climax involving a spacecraft.
But from the mind of Dan O'Bannon, the writer of Alien, you get this fascinating concoction of ideas combining multiple genres of horror into a single fascinating concept. Well worth watching despite its rough edges.

I second this. It's been a while since I've seen it but it was surprisingly good. I didn't go into it expecting much

These are all good except Cloverfield. It's utter trash.
I was not a fan of Prospect, too indie.

Virus is another good one
Kin Dza Dza, more of a dark humor one. Good visuals for a Soviet movie
Aniara. t's another indie movie where they try to pass up a concrete parking garage as a space ship.

Pretty much all the good ones have been mentioned
