it made US politics seem like it was by competent people who had the good of the american people as their driving force, but reality showed that to be total bullshit. a lot of the ideological arguments which ended up having real world counterparts showed that the WW thinking was naive and took no consideration of reality into things. in WW you could be good because it is good and you would win. also Obama showed that democrats when given the chance would not act like WW democrats did. i agree with OP that rewatching it ruins it.
