Id start roughly where the Harley Quinn universe has Batman

He's mid 40s with Selena already, night wing exists. Damian would be his robin. Jason Todd shows up as red hood killing off bad guys and trying to kill the joker.
Something close to the animated movie but have Damian in there same with random show ups by Talia. Movie ends with Todd being put in a jla jail joker going to Arkham and teases Hugo strange in Arkham and bane moving in on jokers old territory

Dick Grayson has recently stepped into the role of Batman following Bruce Wayne's supposed death. He takes on Damien as Robin. They investigate a series of mob killings, that have a similarity to their own methods.
Villain is Red Hood. Set up for his redemption, and Bruce resurrection.

Robin works but it has to be done correctly (which almost no piece of media has done.) It also depends a lot on his age. A highly trained 16 year old beating up a fat italion 40 year old? Yea I can see that. An eleven year old kid toppling a 27 year old buff black dude? Yea, no.

In the Harley Quinn universe he's mid 40s is dating Selena, Todd was already back, it's set ahead of the DC universe 10 years. It's more of an established Batman getting ready to retire in 10 years

Batman and Robin fight some villain (Crazy Quilt or something, who cares) Robin gets angry at Batman for trying to micromanage and control everything about him
Dick Grayson "graduates" as Robin and is now protecting Bludhaven as NightWing
Batman finds a new Robin in Tim Drake and begins training him
Dick hears about this and tries to prevent Tim from falling into the same life he did, full of constant pain and worry and anger
Batman is almost dogmatic in trying to control Tim and ends up fighting with Dick
In fighting, Dick realizes that Bruce doesn't take in strays because he thinks he can help them, he does it because he needs someone to make him feel like he isn't just a sociopath
Dick manages to talk Batman down by showing him that he's still a human and not insane
Tim realizes that Batman is a bit crazy but still decides to stick with him because he's a sociopath himself (set up for Red Hood shenanigans)
In the end, all three work together to take down the villain (whoever that is) with Tim "accidentally" killing the villain

If you're going to introduce a new Batman in a new universe you have to put in the work to make people care about this one. How the fuck are you going to make the Red Hood reveal emotional when you are introducing both him and Batman and Nightwing and Damien in the same movie? How long is this movie going to be?

Batman (no Robins or Nightwings or Batgirls but yes Alfred) fights a bad guy who hasn't been done yet or hasn't been done in a while (Clayface, Mr. Freeze, Killer Croc, Scarecrow, Firefly, Poison Ivy)

We don't need to explain Thomas and Martha in the alley, or John and Mary at the Circus. Or that Damien might be the result of Bruce getting raped.
The people that care about that already know. The general public knows who Batman is, and why Bruce being missing is important
